RESOLUTION 2022-58
RESOLUTION SETTING MEETING DATES FOR SEPTEMBER 2022
RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District hereby set the
following meeting dates for the month of September: Work Session, Thursday, September 1,
2022 at 6:30 P.M., monthly meeting, Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 6:30 P.M.
RESULT: Motion by, seconded by , all in favor and motion carried unanimously to approve
Resolution 2022-58.
RESOLUTION 2022-59
RESOLUTION APPROVING BILL REGISTER AND AUTHORIZING
PAYMENT OF CURRENT BILLS
RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District hereby approve the
Bill Register submitted by the Treasurer for the Augusts 18, 2022 meeting and further
authorizes payment of the current bills.
RESULT: Motion by, seconded by , all in favor and motion carried unanimously to approve
Resolution 2022-59.
RESOLUTION 2022-60
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A COMMERCIAL DOOR AND FRAME
RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District hereby approves the
purchase of a commercial door and frame from to be installed at the west
exterior door in the community room in the amount of$

RESOLUTION 2022-61
RESOLUTION ADOPTING §8-104 OF THE NEW YORK
STATE ELECTION LAW AND PROCEDURES FOR THE CONDUCT OF ELECTIONS
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District has determined that it is
in the best interest of its residents to provide an orderly polling place for voters during its
elections; and
WHEREAS,the Board has reviewed §8-104 of the Election Law and finds it necessary to define
and adopt procedures in accordance with the same;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners hereby adopt§8-104
of the Election Law and the following procedures for the conduct of elections:
1. The Polling Place shall be within Mattituck Park District property known as Veterans'
Memorial Park property, 11280 Great Peconic Bay Blvd, Mattituck, NY.
I. While the polls are open no person shall do any electioneering within the polling
place, or on any part of Veterans' Memorial Park, or in any public street, within 100
feet of the entrance to Veterans' Memorial Park or within such distance in any place
in a public manner; and no political banner, button poster, or placard shall be allowed
in or upon the polling place. No person shall solicit or attempt to sway any voter to
vote for or against any candidate.
II. While the polls are open no person shall consume any alcoholic beverage within the
polling place.
2. The Guard-rail shall be the entrance to and inclusive of the Veterans' Park Community
Room.
I. The ballot boxes, other secure storage containers and all official ballots shall be kept
within the guard-rail, and at least six feet therefrom,from the opening of the polls
until the announcement of the result of the canvass and the signing of the inspectors
returns thereof.
H. No person shall be permitted within the guard-rail during such period except the
election officers including election inspectors, election coordinator, Park District
Attorney and Park District Secretary, persons admitted to preserve order or enforce
the law, voters duly admitted for the purpose of voting and children under the age of
sixteen accompanying their voting parent or guardian.
III. Candidates voted for at the polling place, and their family and legal representative
and the Park District Commissioners may be within the guard-rail in an area
specified by the Election officers during the canvass.
IV. No person shall be permitted within the guard-rail after the polls close and during the
counting of the ballots, except the election officers including election inspectors,
election coordinator, Park District Attorney and Park District Secretary, and persons
admitted to preserve order or enforce the law.

Denise Geis, George Lomaga, Katie Girandola and Anthony DiVello were present from the
public.
CALL TO ORDER
Meeting called to order 6:30 PM
Appointment—George Lomaga
• Mr. Lomaga wanted more attention at Breakwater particularly with the parking. The
sheds are extremely hot for the attendants perhaps provide fans for them.
• Mr. Lomaga asked if MPD has defibrillators? C Shashkin replied that they were ordered
in March and they are expected to be delivered in August.
• He suggested that MPD also get Narcan.
• Mr. Lomaga commended the Commissioners for the"No Dogs" sign at Breakwater.
• G Lomaga suggested that perhaps a public meeting about how to deal with the
Breakwater'walk-ons' . K Byrne explained it is a difficult situation to manage but the
Commissioners are working on coming up with a solution or better way to manage.
• Mr. Lomaga suggested to work with the town and other organizations to stop the
fireworks at Breakwater They are excessive and the piping plovers and other species
should be protected
Appointment—Anthony DiVello
• Mr. DiVello brought up the topic of larger boats and bigger crowds at Bailie beach near
the inlet. People park their boats at the beach and a lot of garbage gets left behind, he
suggested to have MPD post signs that say `residents only'
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion by C Gueli, seconded by K Byrne, all in favor and motion carried unanimously to
approve the Minutes from the July 14, 2022 and the special meeting from July 7, 2022
submitted via email.
TREASURER'S REPORT(L Girandola)
Presented/Discussed:
Statement of Activity dated July 2022 showing July 2022 YTD and 2022 Full year
estimate/actual
Sales/revenue spreadsheet for January 2022-July 2022
Cash balance report
• L Girandola revenue for current year is very strong partly due to price increase and more
volume.
• Revenues are about 97% of what was forecasted for the year
• Expenses need to be managed carefully as only 46% of expenses are in for the year but
the outlook is positive if MPD continues to tread carefully
• L Girandola is forcasting to have a cash balance of$152,605.00 for the end of the year
which is an $80,000.00 loss, however, at the beginning of the year, it was projected to
have no cash balance by year end but MPD is working toward building up the reserve
fund.
Motion by Gueli seconded by K Byrne, all in favor and motion carried unanimously to accept
and approve the Treasurer's Report.
