Landfill Gas Monitoring Program,Third Quarter 2020

Dear Mr.Bunchuck:
On September 18, 2020 D&B Engineers and Architects, P.C. (D&B) completed the Third Quarter 2020
landfill gas monitoring event for the Town of Southold Landfill located on Cox Lane, off of Middle Road
(CR 48) in Cutchogue, New York. As part of this event, each of the existing fifteen (15) landfill gas
monitoring wells (GMW-1 through 15) were screened utilizing a GEM 5000 Plus Landfill Gas Analyzer
for the following parameters: temperature; oxygen levels; carbon monoxide levels; hydrogen sulfide levels;
and lower explosive limit(LEL) for methane, Weather conditions on September 18, 2020 were observed to
be overcast and approximately 64 degrees Fahrenheit.
Enclosed with this letter is Figure 1, which shows the approximate locations of each existing landfill gas
monitoring well. Also enclosed with this letter is Table 1, which lists all landfill gas monitoring wells and
their corresponding measurements as observed during the September 18, 2020 monitoring event. As
indicated in Table 1,methane, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen sulfide were not detected within any of the
landfill gas monitoring wells, and oxygen levels were detected at or below typical atmospheric levels.
The next quarterly round of landfill gas monitoring is expected to be conducted during the Fourth Quarter
