The Architect shall review and approve all requisitions for pay. ment. Cleaning Up: The Contractor shall keep the premises free ~rom accumulation of waste materials and rubbish. Upon completion of construction, the Contractor shall thoroughly clean the building for all trades as follows: 1. Masonry: Clean with a stiff brush, removing all mortar stains, dirt and other objectionable discoloration. 2. Glass: Remove putty stains from all glass, remove all paint stains from glass, wash and polish same inside and out. 3. Hardware and other unpainted metal surfaces: ,Clean and polish for all trades. UEINRIB SECTION NO" 1 EXCAVATING, GRADING, SITE WORK, SANITARY SYSTEM 1-01 EXCAVATION Excavate to dimensions one foot greater in size than outside dimensions of the masonry, slope to prevent cave-in, and to the depth required, or to solid formation suitable for the foundations" The Contractor shall bring the grade up to the necessary level to receive 6" top soil. WEINRJ:B SECTION NO.2 CONCRETE AND MASONRY 2-01 FOUNDATIONS Foundations shall be constructed of hollow concrete block of height shown on Drawings. All blocks shall be ~ell cured of stone aggregate concrete, meetinq'A.s.T.M. spacifications. Provide corner and solid blocks as shown or required. Mortar for joints shall be one part Portland cement, two parts sand to which 10' (by volume) lime shall be added. Blocks shall be laid in full buttered joints and shall be set in straight hori- zontal and vertical ceurses. Joints shall be staggered. The top course shall be of solid concrete block units. ImINRIB SECTlON NO. 7 PAINTING 7-01 PREPARATlON The Painting Contractor shall not commence work until surfaces arB in proper condition. Ue shall protect adjacent work from soiling or damage, as well as his own work. All surfaces to be painted must be sanded smooth, clean and dry. All knots or sap streaks shall be given one (1) coat of shellac before painting. All necessary puttying of nail holes, cracks and blemishes shall be done after priming coat has become dry and hard before second coat is applied. All mixing required ahall be done on the premises and no materials shall be reduced or changed in any way except as specified. NOTE. All paints are to be of the color selected by the Owner. 1~02 ~ERIALS (EXTERIOR,_ONLY NEW WORK) . SCOPB This Contractor shall provide all labor and materials required for the execution and completion of a satisfactory plumbing system, with all necessary valves, fittings, vents, traps and so for.th as called for and/or required by all applicable codes and common good practice. All lines are to connect into exist- ing system. 8-03 PIPING . Soil pipe below grade or below slabs are to be standard weight cast iron, hub and spigot joints with packing and lead joints, pipe coated with ooat tar pitch varnishl drainage, vent and waste (above grade) copper, hot and cold water shall be hard' copper tubing. Provide brass bodied valves wherever necessary to properly control the various lines.
