APPLICATION FOR.CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
This application must be filled in by typewriter OR ink and submitted to the building
inspector with the following: for new building or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines,
streets, and unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final Approval from Health Dept. of water supply and ~ewerage-disposal(S-9 form).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire UndeCwriters.
4. Sworn statement from plumber certifying that the solder used in system contains
less than 2/10 of i% lead.
5. Commercial building, industrial building, multiple residences and similar buildings
and installations, a certificate of Code Compliance from architect or engineer
responsible for the building.
6. Submit Planning Board Approval of completed site plan requirements.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 9, 1957) non-conforming uses, or buildings and
"pre-existing" land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing ali property lines, streets, building and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. A properly completed application and a consent to inspect signed by the applicant.
If a Certificate of Occupancy is denied, the Building Inspector shall state the
reasons therefor in ?riting to the applicant.

Dear Mr. Alec:
During a review of our files it was noted that the above
building permits have expired, and Certificates of Occupancy
have not been issued.
According to the Code of the Town of Southold Article XIV,
100-141 and 100-144 a building permit is needed for construction
of an addition to an existing dwelling, and also for any
accessory buildings on said property. It is unlawful to occupy
a dwelling or use said accessory building until a Certificate of
Occupancy has been issued.
Final inspections have not been made. Please contact this
office so that we may arrange a time for the inspections to be
done.
This is your third notification. In order to avoid any
legal action, you must correct these violations immediately.

8:15 p.m. Upon application of George Alec, Main Road, Cutchogue,
NY for a Variance to the Zoning Ordinance, Article III, Sections
100-31 and 100-36 for permission to construct and enlarge porch
with a reduction of frontyard setback at 22445 Main Road, Cutchogue,
NY; bounded northwest and northeast by Cutchogue Joint Venture;
southwest by Cross; south and southeast by Alec and Main Road;
County Tax Map Parcel No. 1000-109-1-7.
By this appeal, applicant seeks permission to construct a
15' front porch (enlarged from its original size of 9') leav-
ing a setback from the front property line of approximately 23
feet. The board at the time of inspection of the premises notes
that the dwelling directly across the street has a frontyard
setback of approximately seven feet from its front property line.
It is the feeling of the board that applicant's request is
minimal, less than 10% of a variance from the requirements of
the zoning code together with its established setback, and this
project will not affect the character of the neighborhood.
In considering this appeal, the board determines that the
variance request is not substantial; that the circumstances
herein are unique; that by allowing the variance no substantial
detriment to adjoining properties would be created; that no
adverse effects will be produced on available governmental faci-
lities of any increased population; that the relief requested
will be in harmony with and promote the general purposes of zoning;
and that the interests of justice will be served by allowing the
variance..
On motion by Mr. Douglass, seconded by Mr. Goehringer, it was
RESOLVED, that the application of George Alec in Appeal No.
2921 be GRANTED AS APPLIED FOR.
