Instructions
A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and sub~ tted In duplicate to the Building Inspec-
tor with [he following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and unusual
natura~ or topograohic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal--(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar building~ and installa-
tions, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for the building.
5. Submk Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey of peoperty showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural or
topograph ic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent informa-
tion required to prepare a certificate.

The Board made the following findings and determination:
By this appeal~ applicant s~eks permission to:construct a
new, one-family dwelling with deck with an insufficient frontyard
setback on each Wigwam and Wampum Ways of 39 feet and insuffi-
cient setback from the southerly property line at 2~ feet and the
easterly property line at 40 feet. The subject premises is a
corner lot as defined by Section 100-13 of the code!, contains an
area of approximately 19,850 square feet, 135.17 fe~t along Wig-
wam Way and 145 feet along Wampum Way. Upon inspecting the
premises and immediate neighborhood, the board finds that the
average rearyard setbacks are 30 feet and average f~ontyards
set back approximately 50 feet. It is the feeling ~f the board
that the relief requested is substantial in relation to the
code requirements and the existing setbacks in the heighborhood,
and that the setbacks should be reduced, as indicated below.
In considering this appeal, the board determines that the
variance request is not substantial; that the circumstances
herein are unique; that by allowing the variance nol substantial
detriment to adjoining properties would be created;I that the
difficulty cannot be obviated by a method, feasiblei to appellant,
other than a variance; that no adverse effects wilil be produced
on available governmental facilities of any increased population;
that the relief requested will be in harmony with a~d promote the
general purposes of zoning; and that the interests !of justice
will be served by allowing the variance. ~
On motion by Mr. Sawicki, seconded by Mr. Douglass, it was
RESOLVED, that the application of Edward R. ~anke, Appeal
No. 2924 be GRANTED SUB~ECT...TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
1. That the frontyard setback off Wampum Wayl be not less
than 44 feet, leaving a 35' minimum rearyard setback;
2. That the frontyard setback off Wigwam Way be not less
than 39 feet, leaving a minimum setback from the sQutherly
property line of 26 feet.
Location of Property: Southeasterly corner olf Wigwam and
Wampum Ways, Southold, New York; Nunnokoma Waters Piled Subdivi-
sion Map 5126, Lot 1; County Tax Map Parcel No. 10100-87-2-35.
