The gas well monitoring program was conducted on February 5, 2008 for the fifteen (15) gas monitoring wells at the southwest, south and southeast perimeter of the landfill. Figure 1 is provided which indicates the location of these wells at the landfill. The monitoring program included the measurement of carbon monoxide, oxygen, and lower explosive limit(LEL)for methane. These wells were monitored by the use of a RKI GX2003 Gas Portable Monitor and weather.conditions that day were observed to be cloudy with light rain and approximately 40 degrees with moderate wind out of the west. The following table summarizes the findings of the February 5,2008 gas well monitoring program: Carbon Gas Well LEL(%) Monixide Oxygen(%) (PPM GMW-1 0 0 20.0 GMW-2 0 0 20.1 GMW-3 0 0 19.8 GMW-4 0 0 20.0 GMW-5 38 13 5.0 GMW-6 100+ - 13 4.1 GMW-7 0 0 18.1 GMW-8 8 0 16.9 GMW-9 3 0 19.8 GMW-10 14 0 11.4 GMW-11 35 0 5.4 GMW-12 0 0 19.5 GMW-13 2 0 14.8 GMW-14 0 0 19.4 GMW-15 0 0 20.0 ENGINEERS ► ARCHITECTS ► SCIENTISTS ► PLANNERS ► SURVEYORS U214(;ROUP James Bunchuck February 13,2008 Page 2 The results indicate that there is currently a potential for combustible gas migration beyond the boundary of the landfill in the vicinity of GMW-6 and GMW-11 located in the southeast and east portions of the landfill. The next quarterly round of monitoring is expected to be conducted during May 2008. If any questions arise concerning the gas well monitoring program, please contact the undersigned at (631)756-8000.
