Statement of the effect, if any, on the wetlands and tidal waters of the town that may result by reason of such proposed operations (use attachments if appropriate): The existing 1-story single-family dwelling was originally constructed prior to 1957 and later expanded on its landward side in 1987 pursuant to a "Waiver"granted by the Board of Trustees,Southold ZBA approval No.3587,and Building Permit No.15693Z,for which Ceritificate of Occupancy No.Z16130 was issued in September 1987. The proposed project, which seeks to raise the dwelling(in-place)from a FEMA-noncompliant base flood elevation to a conforming flood elevation and replace the existing conventional septic system with an I/A OWTS sanitary system, will have a net beneficial impact on the quality and function of the adjacent tidal wetlands and waters of the Town. Raising the dwelling to a FEMA-compliant base flood elevation will also further the goals of LWRP Policy 4 by substantially increasing the dwelling's protection from potential flood and erosion damage, thus also providing a potential benefit to adjacent properties through a reduction of potential damage that could be caused to nearby structures as a result of damage that might otherwise occur to the subject dwelling during a significant storm event. The replacement of the existing conventional septic system with a low-nitrogen,I/A sanitary system will provide a potentially substantial increase in the protection and improvement of water quality, I as the I/A system would be located approximately 59 feet farther from wetlands and is designed to significantly reduce nitrogen loading into the groundwater and ultimately4he adjacent surface waters. And the addition of a stormwater drainage system to collect roof runoff will provide a potentially significant reduction in potential runoff. The proposed sanitary and drainage systems will thus also serve to further the LWRP Policy 5 and 6 goals of protecting and improving water quality and protecting and restoring the quality and function of the tidal wetlands ecosystem of Corey Creek. And the addition of a stormwater drainage system to collect roof runoff will provide a potentially significant reduction in potential runoff. Attach additional sheets if necessary Policy 6.
