A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in duplicate to the Building Inspec-

1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and unusual
natural or topographic featu res.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal-(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and installa-
tions, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for the building·
5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.

Here are three copies of the application for a building permit and various
attachments containing: plot plan; relationship to roads~ther properties;
specification sheet listing materials to be used in framing; information
relating to foundation~ etc.
Mario Zanghetti and Ray Edwards, both of whom you know, will be working with
me and will see to it that the proposed addition conforms to Building
Department regulations.

Dear Mr. Fisher:
As a follow-up to your letter of October 3rd and our telephone conversation,
this is to confirm that:
The addition is for smmner use and will not be heated. I will, however,
plan to conform to the Energy Code with respect to the use of installatmon
for ceiling (6"), sides (3 1/2") and floor joists (6").
The crawl space will be 18". Current plans call for use of asbestos
sheet rock to close in the crawl space. A decorative lattice skirt will
be added later.
-- The slmding doors will be provided by Carlswood. The A~rsen windows
will also be wood framed.
-- The znterzor walls will be made up of 4' X 8' wood paneling.
There will be no loss of light in the living room which will connect
with the extension. If anything, there will be more l~ght inasmuch
as the entrace to the extension will be enlarged from the present 30"
to perhaps 4' to 6'. The 1t' X 16' living room has a 2' X 6' Andersen
window/on the opposite wall.

receiving the Building Permit.

indicates that we have removed the extension of the middle cottage. We did
this to provide a view of the water for my daughter and son-in-law who are
occupying the rear cottage. If agreeable to you, I suggest that this change
be covered by an amendment to Permit No. 116882. Work on that extension is
now in process.

Dear Mr. Fisher:
As a follow-up to my April 12th letter (copy attached) and our subse-
quent telephone conversation on August 1st, I am enclosing copies of
pictures which show the "before," "during" and current stages of the
renovation work.
As indicated, we have replaced the former extension with a 19' x 7'5"
addition. The affect of the change is to increase the open space on
the building lots by 70 square feet.
Additional concrete footings were installed. The open area between
the sills and ground will be faced with asbestos sheeting. All in-
terior work will be in accordance with the New York State ~uilding
Code~ i.e., 16' centers for rafters and floor joists, etc.
The framework for the dormer installed by my son on a whim, without
my knowledge, is being removed and the space will continue to serve
as attic storage space.
I hope the above information answers the questions you raised. My
