Instructions
This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in duplicate to the Building Inspec-
tor with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and unusual
natural or topographic featu res.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal-(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and instatla~
tions, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for the building.
5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable,
For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural or
topographic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent informa-
tion required to prepare a certificate.

Upon application of David and Carmen Olenick, 120 Park Place,
Brooklyn, New York, for a variance to the Zoning Ordinance,
Article III, Section 100-32 for permission to construct a swim-
ming pool in the front-yard area. Location of property: Corner
of South. Harbor Lane and Private Road, Southold, New York,
bounded on the north by VandenHeuvel; west by Jacobs; south
by Private Road; west by South Harbor~ Lane.

ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
After investigation and inspection, the Board finds that
the applicants wish to construct a swimming pool in the front-
yard area fronting~Private Road. It is impossible %o construct
a swimming pool in [the front-yard area fronting South Harbor
Road because it isilow land or creek land and also impossible
~n~the rear-yard because of the dwelling's closeness to the
creek. The Board ~grees with the reasoning of the applicants.
The Board finds that strict application of the Ordinance would
produce practical difficultles~or unnecessary hardship; %he hardship
created is unique And would not be shared by all properties alike in
the immediate vicinity of the property and in the same use district;
and the variance w~ll not change the character of the neighborhood
and~ will observe the spirit of the Ordinance.
