This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in duplicate to the Building Inspec- tor with the following; for new buildings or new use: 1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and unusUal natural or topographic features. 2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal--(S-9 form or equal). 3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters. 4. Commercial buildings, ~ndustrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and installa- tions, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for the building. 5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing" land uses: 1. Accurate survey of peoperty showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural or topographic features. 2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancv and condition of buildings. 3. FISHER Sr. Building Inspector WILLIAM PETERS PINE TREE ROAD CUTCHOGUE, N.Y. 516-734-5989 In general, the work involves enclosing the e~aisting roofed porch and is more detailed as follows: BY THE CONTRACTOR Remove porch deck framing and pine facing from posts and rafter supports (owner to remove deck). Use the removed 2" X 6" framing, if practical, for sill plates. Girder to be new. Remove existing north ~all of present living room so new area and living room will be one open area. Existing center post is to remain as structural support for existing ridge pole. Build up ten (10) present cement block piers around perimeter of the new enclosure to a level to receive the new floor beams. When finished, new floor shall be at same level as existing floor. Install ½" foundation bolts. Enclose crawl space with non-bearing wall with one access door on north side. Crawl space shall be vented with a closeable damper. Termite proof all sill plates, girder and floor beams of the new enclosure including the sill plate and box beam on existing north wall of present living room with two (2) coats of green "cuprinol" or other termite proofing liquid. ~se present 2" X 6" beams for,~ll~plates. Install new 2'' X 8" Douglas Fir "Construction Grade" to existing house floor framing with "Teco" hangers in addition to resting on supporting 4" ledge of protruding cement block. Install 4" full thick fibre glass insulation between floor beams with vapor barrier up, and support by wire or other means to prevent sagging. Install ~" plywood sub-floor. Install 2" Y 8" beams against underside of present roof insulated sheathing and between ridge and rafter supports. This to act as a top plate for stud attachment. See detail. Install 2" X 4" wall framing 16" O.C. Install two (2) celestrial windows in upper part of north wall. Install one (1) aluminum sliding window in east wall at same height as top of door (door to be furnished w/hardware by owner). Install two (2) new fixed windows in west wall from floor plate to underside of rafter support. Height and appearance of these windows is to correspond to height of existing glass doors. Temporarily close these openings in existing wall as heat will be left on by the owner. Area above rafter supports to be framed to receive siding as in existing part of house. Exterior walls to receive 5/8" thick exterior cedar plywood similar to present house exteriors applied to studs over 15 lb..f~lt. Install 4" full thick fibre glass insulation between studs in new area. Install Masonite Royalcote (Pecan) to east wall. Existing paneling can be salvaged and re-used. Install 3/8~ sheetrock taped and spackled on north wall and between new windows of west wall. Install 15 lb. felt and new pre-finished oak floor in new area. Install clamshell type base, window and door trim. Provide minimum width sill for east window. Provide interlock weatherstrip for east entry door. THE O!,f~E[:[ All painting and staining. Installation of free-standing fire place. Structure within 18 inches of the rear of the fireplace will be fire-proof with non-combustible material such as brick bached by asbestos board, separated by a 1" free air space from the house structure itself. The hearth will consist of asbestos board and a non-combustible material such as brl~,or'slate. The stove pipe will be a stainless steel insulated stove pipe at the exit wall and up through the eave of the house. Addition of insulation to interior roof of present porch to conform to the State Energy Conservation Construction Code. The present roof consists of 1 ~" Homasote Roof Decking with an R factor of 4.46. This R factor will be increased to 19 or more with a suitable insulating 2" Thermosate or 2" Suprathane OMNIBOARD and ½" gypsum board or equivalent.
