This wall has ~pparently been constructed with 2x4.studs broken by two double plates instead of the continuous 2x6 studs indicated on the plans. As the Architect for this residence, I have come up with a scheme for solving this prmblem as indicated on th~ enclosed drawing. This solution consists of the addition of an additional 2x~ stud to each existing stud. This new stud will be run continuous past the existing plate locations serving as a stron~back brace. The new studs will be fastened to the existing studs with plywood gussets and 'Teco" tyoe connectors securely nailed in place. This proposed solution will, I am sure, adequately resolve the problem.
