TOWN OF SOUTHOLD Dear Mr. Lessard: Your January 4, 1988 letter, to my mother, Vera R. Diefenbacher, who is the owner of a home at 920 Pine Neck Road, $outhold, was forwarded to her at her new residence in Pennsylvania. Inasmuch as I am her Attorney in Fact, I am replying in her behalf. Your letter mentions that there is no application for Certificate of Occupancy on file, nor has a fee of $25.00 been paid in connection with building permit #12366Z for her home. It also says that "occupancy or use is unlawful without a certificate of occupancy." Further it mentions legal action may be taken if the matter is not cleared up "as soon as possible." Inasmuch as neither she nor I have applied for any building permit recently, and since she bought the home in June, 1970, and lived there from September that year until mid-November 1987, we are confused as to the reason for your letter. The only change that was made to the home recently was a patio roof added in the rear over an existing concrete patio. This was done in 1984 or 1985, and she obtained a building permit at that time which she gave to the builder. Mr. Rudolph Bruer, Attorney, is handling my mother's real estate affairs in Southold and by copy of this letter I am making him aware of your request. Would you please send me the specifics of the situation and copy Mr. Bruer on your reply so that we can determine what it is your are looking for.
