A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted m Ilam~ to the Building In,ac-

I. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and unusual
natural or topographic features.
2.Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal-(S-9 form or equal).
3.Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4, Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and installa-
tions, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for tls building.
5,Submit P!anning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.

Dear Mr. Lessard:
Your January 4, 1988 letter, to my mother, Vera R. Diefenbacher, who
is the owner of a home at 920 Pine Neck Road, $outhold, was forwarded to
her at her new residence in Pennsylvania. Inasmuch as I am her Attorney in
Fact, I am replying in her behalf.
Your letter mentions that there is no application for Certificate of
Occupancy on file, nor has a fee of $25.00 been paid in connection with
building permit #12366Z for her home. It also says that "occupancy or use
is unlawful without a certificate of occupancy." Further it mentions legal
action may be taken if the matter is not cleared up "as soon as possible."
Inasmuch as neither she nor I have applied for any building permit
recently, and since she bought the home in June, 1970, and lived there from
September that year until mid-November 1987, we are confused as to the
reason for your letter. The only change that was made to the home recently
was a patio roof added in the rear over an existing concrete patio. This
was done in 1984 or 1985, and she obtained a building permit at that time
which she gave to the builder.
Mr. Rudolph Bruer, Attorney, is handling my mother's real estate
affairs in Southold and by copy of this letter I am making him aware of
your request. Would you please send me the specifics of the situation and
copy Mr. Bruer on your reply so that we can determine what it is your are
looking for. In the event that your request is in error, would you also
please confirm that fact by replying to me.

b. Plot plan showing location of lot and of buildings on premises, relationship to adjoining premises or public streets

c. The work covered by this application may not be commenced before issuance of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application, the Building Inspector will issued a Building Permit to the applicant. Such permit
shall be kept on the premises available for inspection throughout the work.
e. No building shall be occupied or used in whole or in part for any purpose whatever until a Certificate of Occupancy
shall have been granted by the Building Inspector.

Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, and other applicable Laws, Ordinances or
