PRELIMINARY PLANS Three full sets of plans_sent prior to the shipment of the building. These plans are not to be used for construction purposes as the stamp placed on floor framing through elevation sheets explains. It is the customer's responsibility to forward copies to both the contractor and building code official. (STAMP SHOWN ON PRELIMINARY PLANS) THESE PLANS CANNOT BE (:HANGED IN TERMS OF APPLICABLE CODES. HOWEVER, PLANS ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR BUILDING'PURPOSES SINCE LOG NUMBERING MAY NEED ALTER- lNG AT TIME OF MANUFACTURE. Preliminary plans should be thoroughly checked by the customer and contractor in order to familiarize themselves with our building procedures and materials. If any discrepancies are found while reviewing the plans, notify your sales representative so the problem may be corrected. CONSTRUCTION GUIDE An 81/2' x 11" paperback book sent with preliminary and fina~ sets of plans containing information concerning delivery, construction, and care of your Northeastern Log Home building. This book should be read by both the owner and the building con- tractor prior to any construction FINAL PLAN SETS Three full sets of plans to be used for carrier when the building is trucked to and used as a guide during construction. building purposes sent with the deliw;ring the site, or mailed to the owner when the building is transported by rail. It is the customer's responsibility to forward two coPies of the final plans and a copy of the construotion guide to the contractor. All plans are carefully checked before shipment, however, the possibility of human error 'does exist, therefore, the contractor must verify all dimensions shown on the plan prior to construction. Any discrepancies should be reported to your sales representative before any construction begins. MATERIALS LIST An itemized list of materials included in your Northeastern Log Home package. All coded items (~) should be inventoried thoroughly on delivery to determine if any damage has resulted during transit. Non-coded items should also be inventoried if those materials have been arranged at the building site in ar¥ orderly fashion to insure correct identification and accurate counting. If delivered by truck, any damage should be recorded on the receiving slip and returned with the driver to insure replace- ment or credit. With rail shipments, if any damage is noted, you must contact the railroad immediately and request a damage inspection report which is provided by the delivering railroad. In order to file a damage claim, it is imperative that you have a damage inspection report compiled. Once the item on the material list has been inventoried, any apparent shortages should be double checked, then discussed with your 'sales representative no later than 15 days after delivery. Also, please remember that once the materials package has been delivered, the responsibility of those materials rest solely with the customer so precautions against pilferage, fire and vandalism should be taken. STANDARD DETAIL SHEETS General details labeled sheets A-F placed at the end of the plans. These sheets must be studied by the contractor, bearing in mind they are general and that some details may not apply to your building. NOTES: Do not scale off these plans. Ample dimensions are shown on the plans to locate all items. Simple arithmetic may be used to determine the location of those items not dimensioned. IIf your building is designed to meet BOCA BUILDING CODES, smoke detectors (~supptied by others) must be placed adjacent to the bedroom area.
