Dear Mr. Gillespie:
First, may I apologize for the delay in answering your letter
regarding your building permit. During the final months of 1983
and early in 1984 our department was relocated and expanded, and
the disruption has had long-lasting effects. I'm very sorry for
any inconvenience caused by the delay.
I referred your letter to Mr. Lessard, our Executive Admin-
istrator, and he asked that you keep your new application and fee
until your plans are more definite, particularly your starting
time. That way, you would have more time to complete your new
residence with less chance of further expiration problems. Your
application, check, and other copies are enclosed.
Please keep in mind that the average wait for a building
permit is two weeks. During the spring and summer months, the
processing time may be slightly longer.
Again, my apologies. We hope to be hearing from you soon.
