REASON FOR APPEAL
( ) A Variance to Section 280A Subsection 3
(X) A Variance to the Zoning Ordinance
( )
is requested for the reason that: It has become necessary to make some alterations
and build an addition on an existing dwelling. Said dwelling sets at
an angle to the property lines at N/W corner it is about 3ft to the line.
The addition on the sout~erly side would come within 13ft P/M of the
southerly line at it s/E corner there by making an insufficient sideyard.
The lot is 75 ft wide and 290 ft deep, the house was built before
195? thus causing a hardship under present regulat~ons.

REASON FOR APPEAL
Continued
1. STRICT APPLICATION OF THE ORDINANCE would produce practical difficulties or unneces-
sary HARDSHIP because: The dwelling was built at an angle to the lot lines,
(dwelling built before 1957) on a 75ft wide lot thereby creating a
hardshiu under present regulations in making the required side yards.
. ,
one corner of the proposed addition will protrude about 2 ft
into the required side yard on southerly side.
2. The hardship created is UNIQUE and is not shored by
vicinity of this property and in this use district because;
011 properties alike in the immediate
this is a long narrow lot
that slopes in at least two directions and faces a stone wall on the
souhherly side. Said stone wall being a retaing wall on the adjoining
lot.
3. The Variance would observe the spirit of the Ordinonce and WOULD NOT CHANGE THE
CHARACTER OF THE DISTRICT because: This is a residential area (one family
dwellings) the proposed alteration and addit~on to this dwelling will
in no way change or harm the charicter of the surrounding neighborhood.

INSTRUCTIONS
a. This application must be completely filled in by typewriter or in ink and submitted in duplicate to the Building
Inspector.
b. Plot plan showing location of lot and of buildings on premises, relationship to adjoining premises or public streets or
areas, and giving a detailed description of layout of property must be drawn on the diagram which is part of this application.
c. The work covered by this application may not be commenced before issuance of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application, the Building Inspector will issue a Building Permit to the applicant. Such
permit sholl be kept on the premises available for inspection throughout the progress of the work.
e. No building sholl be occupied or used in whole or in part for any purpase whatever until a Certificate of Occupancy
shall have been granted by the Building Inspector.
