1. STRICT APPLICATION OF THE ORDINANCE would produce practical difficulties or unneces-
, s~ry 'HARDSHIP, because house is located on lot in such a position that
bedroom additions would encroach on side yards. Lot is only 45 feet
wide on road and therefore a 5 ft. and 7~ft. side yard cannot be
maintained.
2. The hardship created is UNIQUE and is not shared by 011 properties alike in the immediate
\
vicinity of this property and in this use district because this house is built at an
angle" to' the' lot. Most of .the'other "houses 'arebuild at an 'angle' but
, . they are r,eg1ilar"in :shape.: 'Th'is 'lot 'is 'irregular, being 45 ft. on hay
Shore Road and faning out to 63 ft. on the Bay. The additions, ,are placed
at the only possible locations in the,house;

3, The Variance would observe the spirit of the Ordinance and' WOULD NOT CHANGE THE
CHARACTER ()F THE DISTRICT because almost all of the lots in this area
are under 100 ft. wide, many are 50 ft. wide. The house to the south
only has a 1 foot side yard on its south line. A variance was granted

a. This application' must be c'omplet<ily filled in by typewriter or in ink and submitted in duplicate to the Building
Inspector.
b. Plot plan showing location of lot and of buildings on p remises, relationship to adjoining premises or public streets or
areas, and giving a detailed description of layout of property must be drawn on the diagram which is part of this application.
c. The work covered by this application may not be commenced before issuance of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application, the Building Inspector will issue a Building Permit to the applicant. Such
permit shall be kept on the premises available for inspecti on throughout the progress of the work.
e. No building shall be occupied or used in whole or in po rt for any purpose whatever until a Certificate of Occupancy
shall have been granted by the Building Inspector.
APPLICATION IS HEREBY MADE to the Building Department for the issuance of a Building Permit pursuant to the
Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, and other applicable Laws, Ordinances or
