THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT THE FOLLOWING RF-.~OLUT1ON WAS ADOPTED BY THE
SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD AT A REGULAR MEETING HELD ON APRIL 19. 1994:
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby reaffirms
the following policy:
POLICY ON PREPARATION OF BID. SPECIFICATIONS
WHEREAS, the Town of Southold solicits bids to acquire certain goods and
services; and
WHEREAS, tho Town must provide appropriate specifications to accompany
the invitations to bid; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED that it is the policy of the Town Board of the Town of Southotd
that the Town Engineer, Superintendent of Highways, Town Clerk, or any
other appropriate Town official may prepare bid specifications for those
cases in which said Town official has the expertise; and be'it
FURTHER RESOLVED that if additional expertise is required to prepare said
specifications, an outside party may be consulted in preparing the
specifications, in which case that party will provide the Town in writing,
in advance, with the cost of providing said services. In the event that
party is also a bidder, the Town will pay the cost of preparing the
specifications irrespective of whether or not the party is subsequently
awarded the bid.
