My name is Scott Burdulis. This is in regard to the property located at 275 Hamilton
Avenue in Cutchogue, New York, zip code 11935. My grandparents had purchased this
property sometime in the 1950s. From my birth until early adulthood I had spent my
summers, whenever possible, at this property. Every summersince I can remember(I was
born on February 18th,1964) my motherwould take my siblings and me outto this house in
Cutchogue. One feature of the house was a space heater located at the bottom of the
stairs. There was a metal grate covering the heater which allowed the heat to rise up
from the furnace which was directly below the grate. In the basement the heather was off
the floor and attached to the ceiling of the basement. I remember having to duck under
the furnace whenever I needed to get to the back part of the basement towards the right.
This heater was at the house until it stopped working and was replaced with anew unit in
2016.

My grandparents bought the property at 275 Hamilton Avenue in 1957. I was born on August
17, 1962 and my parents brought me out to the property starting that summer when I was only
weeks old. From my earliest memories there was always a floor heater located in the living
room at the foot of the stairs. When I was very young I intensely disliked the grating at the foot
of the stairs for this reason: I had to step on it when I used the stairs because my legs were too
short to step around it and the grating dug into my feet whenever I was barefoot. When the
heater was on I could not walk on it barefoot but had to wear slippers because of the heat.
Eventually there came a point where the system broke down to the point where it had to be
replaced but I found out that these types of units were no longer allowed in New York state so I
had Star Mechanical install the current system which was installed starting in 2015 and
completed in 2016.
