PUBLIC COMMENTS
SUPERVISOR SCOTT RUSSELL : That
finishes the agenda items . I am going
to invite anybody that would like to
comment, please feel free?
MR . ERIC McCLURE : Thank you . Good
evening, Eric McClure of Mattituck . I
just wanted to say thanks . The Labor
Day weekend at Strong ' s Water Club and
Windemere was not nearly as bad as the
July 4th weekend . There was -- it ' s
still extremely intrusive . The DJ
Sunday afternoon, according to their
website was supposed to be playing from
Noon to 3 : 00 and played till 4 : 00-4 : 15
something . It ' s loud I have recordings
of it . But it was better than what it
has been . Thank you . Appreciate any
efforts on the Town to help with that .
I did want to point out the previous
week, I filed three complaints on three
consecutive nights . Thursday, Friday
and Saturday night . One for music after
11 : 00 o ' clock . One for music after
11 : 30 . The Saturday night one , we had
September 6, 2022 Regular Meeting 3
the windows closed and the air
conditioning on and I got woken up at
2 : 20 in the morning because somebody on
a boat docked at Strong ' s was playing
their radio . Loudly enough to wake me
up from a deep sleep through the window
and air conditioning on . Filed a code
thing about 2 : 15-2 : 30 in the morning .
There is a section on the code form to
-- what is the best time to observe
infraction, and I said, apparently any
time because it ' s 2 : 30 in the morning
and this was going on . I called the
police , and I am not even sure if the
cop got there when this was still going
on . What happens there -- I reached out
to the person that Jeff had put in
contact with me , and my next door
neighbor, Audrey, the following day and
said this is just -- 2 : 20 in the
morning, it ' s just ridiculous . I asked
if there was any kind of night manager
on the premises and she said, no . Not
after hours . And there are a lot of
issues , as you have heard from me over
September 6, 2022 Regular Meeting 4
the last few weeks . The fact that there
is nobody on the premises and dozens of
boats come in from all over the region,
for a weekend . And I am almost certain
-- I can ' t say with 100% certainty, but
I am almost certain that they do not
hand anybody a list of rules saying,
"we ' re in the midst of a residential
neighborhood . Please be respectful of
your neighbors . If you go into any bar
in the City, or a establishment and they
have a sign up where you smoke that
says , please be respectful of others and
neighbors . So but in any case
( inaudible ) concern and any efforts you
may have made . Thank you .
COUNCILWOMAN JILL DOHERTY : I just
want to say that I will continue to work
with Jeff and come up with some unique
ideas for next season that he can
continue his music, but maybe somehow --
somehow, try to block it and you know --
COUNCILWOMAN SARAH NAPPA: Well , I
think your idea is a good idea . If
there is some way that they can include
September 6, 2022 Regular Meeting 5
rules of you know, when people book a
slip, for people that are docking . That
will be something .
COUNCILWOMAN JILL DOHERTY : I will
ask him.
MR . ERIC McCLURE : Yeah, we would
be grateful for that . We -- back when
Pace ' s took over the restaurant, after
their first season, which was quite
terrible, we -- I didn ' t hear this
directly through him but through the
grape vine, they were going to look
during the winter to see if they can
build some kind of structure that will
contain the sound . They did nothing .
So we would appreciate that . According
to their website, there are 20 other
live music weeks this week and till
October 23rd . I am sure they will do
something on Halloween . So there is
still a lot more .
COUNCILWOMAN JILL DOHERTY : I would
think with the other issue, I mean, late
at night, they have to book it . And
they get via e-mail all the Rules and
September 6, 2022 Regular Meeting 6
Regulations . And they must know what
boat makes the music . I will ask them
what their policy is on that .
MR . ERIC McCLURE : Thank you .
SUPERVISOR SCOTT RUSSELL : Anybody
else like to address the Town Board?
(No Response ) .
MR . ERIC McCLURE : No one on Zoom.
COUNCILWOMAN JILL DOHERTY : I will
make a motion to adjourn .
JUSTICE LOUISA EVANS : Second .
SUPERVISOR SCOTT RUSSELL : All in
favor?
COUNCILWOMAN JILL DOHERTY : Aye .
COUNCILMAN BRIAN MEALY : Aye .
COUNCILWOMAN SARAH NAPPA: Aye .
COUNCILMAN GREG DOROSKI : Aye .
JUSTICE LOUISA EVANS : Aye .
SUPERVISOR SCOTT RUSSELL : Aye .
(Whereupon, the meeting concluded
at this time . )
