Re: Holfelder Inspection,6340 Peconic Bay Blvd, Laurel
Dear John:
I am sorry that I missed you on Oct. 19th, I must have arrived right after you left. I took a look at the
inspection report you left and have addressed those items specified.
I wanted to comment on the existing attic.The space has always been finished since the 1930's and
has been used as a bedroom.That, added to the original three,on the first floor, makes 4.There is no
way for their have ever been 4 bedrooms on the first floor due to space constraints.The recent
construction has reduced the number of bedrooms on the first floor to two plus the one on the second
floor.This added up to a total of 3.This reduces the total Bedroom to the house to 3,That's an overall
reduction.The only work experienced in the attic was paint and new floating floor.
If you will notice,the houses on either side have finished attics. If you go out on Peconic Bay Blvd,there
are identical structures,all of which appear to have finished,occupied attics.Why does this house
have the only unfinished attic on the block? All of these homes were probably built by the same builder
using the same kit,around the same time. It is my belief that the town record is in error. Anyway, how
do we straighten it out?
My next appointment is in November 17. 1 will try to get together the remainder of your requests.
