This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in duplicate to the Building Inspec-
tor with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and unusual
natural or topographic featu res.
2, Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal-(S-9 form or eque0.
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and installa-
tions, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for the building.
5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey of peoperty showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural or
topographic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent informa-

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Tangney:
During a review of our files, it was noted that the above
building permit has expired and a Certificate of Occupancy has
not been issued.
On October 13, 1982 the Board of Appeals sent you a letter
you that an inspection that they made showed that the right-of-
way was not in compliance with the June 12, 1982 report or with
the December 1, 1977 decision of the Board of Appeals.
According to the Code of the Town of Southold Article XXVIII
100-281 and 100-284 a building permit is needed for construction
of a dwelling. It is unlawful to occupy a dwelling until a Cer-
tificate of Occupancy has been issued.
In order to avoid any legal action you must correct the
above violation immediately. Please send the appropriate papers
to this office so that we may issue the Certificate of Occupancy.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Tangney:
We have been asked by the Building Department to re-inspect
the subject right-of-way in response to your recent conversation
with Mr. Lessard.
A recent inspection of the subject right-of-way shows that
the right-of-way is not in compliance with the June 12, 1982
report of the road inspector or with the December l, 1977 decision
rendered by the Board of Appeals.
Once the right-of-way has been satisfactorily improved,
ptease advise in writing.

After investigatmon_and inspection, the Board finds that
the applicant requests approval of access, right-of-way, east
side Little Neck Road, Cutchogue, New York. The findings of
the Board are that the Board is in agreement with the reasoning
of the applicant.
The Board finds that strict application of the Ordinance
would produce practical difficulties or unnecessary hardship;
the hardship created is unique and would not be shared by all
properties alike in the immediate vicinitY of this property and
in the same use district; and the variance will not change the
character of the neighborhood, and will observe the spirit of
the Ordinance.
THEREFORE IT WAS RESOLVED, Charles G. and Mary A. Tangney,
1695 Little Neck Road, Cutohogue, New York, as applied for,
subject to the following conditions:
The applicants shall furnish the Board with a survey
indicating that his present residence has been set
aside and distinguished from the total tract on a
plot of at least 40,000 sq. ft.
The right-of-way to the applicant's proposed resi-
dence shall be improved to a width of at least 15'
The topsoil shall be removed to a depth of 6" and
replaced with bank run or the equivalent.

The Contractor shall, install precast concrete septic tank
and leaching pool, Carlson Brothers or equal, as shown on
D~awings. Septic tank shall be 900 gallon caoacitv; leaching

Provide concrete lawn markers to locate. Contractor to obtain
Health Depart3~ent approval.
FOUNDATIONS
Foundations shall be constructed of hollow concrete block of
height shown on drawings, or pour concrete. Ail blocks shall
be well cured, of stone aggregate concrete, meeting A.S.T.~.
specifications. Provide corner and solid blocks as shown or
required. Mortar for joints shall be of one part Portland
cement, two parts sand to which 10% (by volume) lime shall be
added. Blocks shall be laid in full buttered joints and shall
be set in straight h~rizontal and vertical courses. Joints
shall be staggered. The top course shall be of solid concrete
block units. Furnish and install 1/2" diameter b~, 18" long
anchor bolts for sill at minimum 6'-0" on centers. The Contractor
