The Highway Supt. brought to the attention of the Town Board the fact that certain properties adjacent to the Highway Buildings at Peconic may be available for purchase. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest: WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District, at a meeting held on the sixth day of December, 1961, adopted a resolution in- creasing the salary of Wilfred C. Sinclair, Manager of the Fishers Isladd ~erry District, from $5,560 per annum to $7,060 per annum;~ and WHEREAS, pursuant to the special act of the Legislature creating said District such action of the Board of Ferry D&strict Comm~i~oners is subject to the appro~al~of the Town Board of the Town of Southold, and WHEREAS, a copy of said resolution has been submitted to this Board for the purpose of approving the action of the Ferry District Commissioners, and WHEREAS, after study of this matter and a comparison of the proposed salary of said manager with those of other officials of the Town indicates that such an increase would result in a salary to the Ferry District Manager in excess of any other salary paid to other officials of the TOWn, and also that the duties and responsibilities of the manager of said District are less than those of other officials of the Town receiving a smaller salary, now therefore be it RESOLVED theft the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby disa~prove~ of the action of the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District in increasing the annual salary of Wilfred C. An invitation to bid on 6½ acres of property at Fishers Island, N.Y. was received from General Administration. After discussion the Town BOard and also E. Perry Edwards, Justice of the Peace of Fishers Island decided that the Town Board should not submit a bid on the pr~operty~ A letter was received from Senator Barrett regarding land at New Suffolk, N.Y.. He informedthe Board that he had not been in contact with the Attorney General's Office in an effort to expedite a discussion on the prDperty. Supervisor Albertson informed the Board that aerial photos were avail- able through U. S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Stabiliz- ation and Conservation Service and the Board authorized Supervisor Albertson ro order necessary photographs to complete the area of the Town of Southold.
