HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/09/2021 Town of Southold Housing Advisory Commission Meeting #158 November 9, 2021 – Via Zoom Present: Pat Lutzky, Eric Dantes, Denis Noncarrow, Cheryle Amara, Mark Levine, Marilyn Sierra, Nancy Messer, Town Attorney John Burke, Council Woman Jill Doherty. Meeting began at 4:30 p.m. 1. Approval of Meeting Minutes a. June 8, 2021 Meeting Minutes – Mark Levine made a motion to approve the nd meeting minutes. Cheryle Amara – 2. Approved unanimous. b. September 21, 2021 Meeting Minutes – Mark Levine made a motion to approve the nd meeting minutes. Cherlye Amara – 2. Approved unanimous. c. Acknowledgement that July, August and October meetings were dismissed – Cheryle nd Amara made a motion to approve the meeting minutes. Mark Levine – 2. Approved unanimous. 2. Project Updates – Denis Noncarrow a. Fuerstein – Meeting with planning and engineer to address some changes. b. Paul Pawloski - Greenport project. The project is in Zoning. c. Cherlye Amara – keeping tabs on public hearings pertaining to affordable housing. d. Eric Dantes – Spoke to Richard Vandenburgh and was happy with Greenport project. e. Denis Noncarrow – Rona Smith’s proposed project. Still in the planning stages. f. Denis Noncarrow – Paul Pawloski’s project in Peconic is still in planning. 3. Half percent increase in Transfer tax – Pat Lutzky a. Governor passed. b. Meetings with east end towns to discuss housing plan. c. East End towns working on plans for referendum. May be ready for 2022, but depends on priorities. d. What will the projected amount take in. 4. Housing Authority – Pat Lutzky a. Tom Ruhle – Guest speaker in past b. Pros and Cons c. Figure out how it’s going to benefit our town and how will it be funded. Town of Southold doesn’t have Section 8. d. Putting together 10 year plan to oversee housing. e. Getting expert to go over nuts and bolts. f. Eric states we will need some kind of infrastructure with several developments in town. g. Jill – Scott will be open to discussion. 5. Old Business – None 6. New Business – Denis Noncarrow a. Several new developments in the works right now. Nothing to discuss at this time. b. Putting together a schedule of proposed meetings for 2022. c. Gain new information on condo complex in Greenport. nd Cheryle Amara made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
