LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING
Minutes & Discussion Notes from Meeting held
Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.
This Regular Meeting was held via the Zoom online platform.
The public had access to view and listen to the meeting as it was happening via Zoom. If no access to a
computer or smartphone, there was an option to listen in via telephone.
Comments from the public may not be solicited nor received without an appointment. It is expected that the
Committee will enter into Executive Session* at some point after opening the Regular Meeting for the purpose
of discussing applications regarding proposed acquisitions of real property where publicity would substantially
affect the value thereof. The public is not allowed to attend, view, or listen to Executive Session.

Committee Minutes and Administration
Acceptance of meeting minutes: June 28, 2022
MOTION made by Sam McCullough, seconded by Anne Murray, to accept the 6/28/2022 LPC meeting
minutes.
Motion carried: 4/0 with 1 abstention (DM)
Next LPC meeting date is scheduled for Tuesday, August 16, 2022 and will be held via the Zoom online
platform.

Site visit follow-up
The Committee discussed the June 22, 2022 e-mail from Melissa Principi, and the site visit Committee
Members conducted on July 12, 2022.
The Committee directed Land Preservation Coordinator Melissa Spiro to send a letter to Mr. Principi stating
that:
1) His request to screen the material remaining from the clearing, trimming and pruning that has occurred on
the site; to distribute the screened material within the swale area and along the easterly property
boundary; and to then seed these areas with cover crop, all proposed to occur without any change to the
topography, is consistent with the terms of the easement; and
2) To note that the Land Preservation Committee took several actions regarding his request to make
improvements on the property as outlined in a letter dated February 28, 2022, and that as noted in the

February 28 letter, a complete overall plan together with a revised application form detailing all requests
and improvements is necessary before the Committee will give further consideration to the application.
