Addendum to Tax Forms-Full Sale Price vs.Consideration
Form Consideration/Sale Price Explanation
In the case of a foreclosure,the TP-584 and TP-584.1 Instructions advise to use either the
Judgment Amount or Sale Amount,whichever is higher.This number is used to calculate total
TP-584 $476,433.35 transfer tax due.In this case,the Judgment Amount is higher and therefore is being used as
the Consideration.
RP-5217 $421,680.00 In the case of a foreclosure,the RP-5217 instructs to report the actual amount the property
sold for in foreclosure auction.In this case,the amount is$421680.00 paid by the plaintiff.
