Pre submission Conferences: 3:00 PM 1. Becker, Kathleen, as Trustee Living Trust— Request for a Certificate of Appropriate- ness under Section 170-7(b) of the Southold Town Code at a registered landmark property, 154 King Street, Orient. Proposed•additions and alterations to an Existing Single Family Dwelling. SCTM No. 1000-26-2-3. a) Barbara Cohen, Representative, appeared before the Commission to describe submitted Architectural Plans prepared by Richard M. Mato, Architect, dated June 6, 2022 depicting proposed alterations and additions to a single family dwelling. b) The plans depict a door schedule and window schedule indicating models and sizes of elements to be installed. c) The Final Approved Plans shall be signed and sealed by the design professional, and will properly indicate the Revision date. d) The Commission viewed elevation photos submitted by the Chair showing a street view of the property A Motion was made to set a public hearing for July 28, 2022 by Commissioner Surchin and seconded by Commissioner Wexler. AYES: Ostroski, Surchin, Wexler, Santana, Cubie and Woodhouse (6-0). 2. Lucy Barnes— Request for an Extension of an Administrative Permit granted by this Commission on February 20, 2018 to the prior owner of the property, Mark Kaffaga for replacing existing roof with cedar shingles. a) Lucy Barnes appeared at the meeting to request an extension of an Administrative per- mit so that she can complete the work on her home that was originally approved. b) The Current owner submitted photos of roofs of neighboring homes. c) The cedar shingles are described as Tapersawn Red Cedar Shingles, 18 inch by 5/8 inch. A Motion was made to Grant the current owner an extension of a Certificate of Appropriateness for one year until June 23, 2023 by Commissioner Wexler and seconded by Commissioner Cubie. AYES: Ostroski, Surchin, Wexler, Santana, Cubie and Woodhouse (6-0). Fuentes, Deputy Town Attorney Damon Hagan Quorum present: Pledge of Allegiance: Approval of Minutes: Motion to approve May 26, 2022 meeting minutes by Commissioner Surchin, seconded by Commissioner Wexler,AYES: Ostroski, Surchin, Wexler, and Santana, Cubie and Woodhouse. (6-0). Motion approved. PUBLIC HEARINGS: 3:35 P.M. 1) 3:35 P.M. - Kane, Keith & Lynette — (Adjourned from December 9, 2021) Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness under Section 170-7(b) of the Southold Town Code at a registered landmark property, 335 Village Lane, Orient. To legalize "As Built" four season room conversion attached to an Existing Single Family Dwelling. SCTM No. 1000-25-2-4.13. a) Michael .Kimack, Representative, appeared before the Commission to describe submitted Architectural Plans prepared by Mark Schwartz, Architect, dated June 6, 2022 depicting as built alterations and additions to a single family dwelling. b) The plans depict a door schedule and window schedule indicating models and sizes of elements to be that have been installed. c) The Commission requested that the windows located on the side of the four season room be replaced with Anderson Windows 400 Series, Double Hung, 6 over 6 model. d) The Final Approved Plans shall be signed and sealed by the design professional, and properly indicate the Revision date. A motion was made to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for alterations by Commissioner Surchin, seconded by Commissioner Santana with conditions. Ayes: Ostroski, Surchin, Wexler, Santana, Cubie and Woodhouse. 2) 3:46 P.M. - Pinkwater, Susan — Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness under Section 170-7(b) of the Southold Town Code at a registered landmark property, 220 Champlin Place, Greenport. Proposed alterations to an existing Single Family Dwelling. SCTM No. 1000-34-3-30. a) Brett Kehl, Representative, appeared before the Commission to describe submitted Architectural Plans, last revised May 30, 2022, depicting proposed windows, Anderson Series A, Double Hung, 6 over 6 to be installed on the single family dwelling. 2 Page 3, Minutes of Meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission June 23, 2022 A motion was made to Close the Public Hearing by Commissioner Cubie, seconded by Commissioner Woodhouse.Ayes: All (6-0) A motion was made to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for alterations by Commissioner Cubie, seconded by Commissioner Woodhouse. Ayes: Ostroski, Surchin, Wexler, Santana, Cubie and Woodhouse. 3) 3:50 P.M. - Flavin, Laura—Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness under Section 170- 7(b) of Town Code at a registered landmark property, 50705 Main Road, Southold. Pro- posed additions and alterations to an Existing Single Family Dwelling. SCTM No. 1000-70- 1-7.1 The applicant's representative requested by email, an adjournment to the next hearing date of July 28, 2022. A motion was made to Adjourn the Public hearing to July 28, 2022 by Commissioner Surchin, seconded by Commissioner Woodhouse. Ayes: Ostroski, Surchin, Wexler, Santana, Cubie and Woodhouse. Old Business: (3:51 P.M.) 1. Murphy Home Plaque — No Update 2. Updates on Asch property award in progress. No Updates. 3. Tentative appearance of this Commission to the June Town Board Work Session has been postponed. The Commission discussed presenting to the Town Board proposals to the Town Code regarding fences and waterways, etc. Once proposals are complete, a meeting with the Town Board at their work session will be scheduled. 4. Potential Awards Incentives: No Report 5. HPC Handbook. Revision currently in the process. The Deputy Town Attorney is in the process of drafting amendments to Chapter 170 of the Town Code and will present proposals. Revisions to the Handbook to follow. 6. The commission discussed adding more members. It was suggested that the HPC should reach out to local architects to join the commission. 7. Chairperson Ostroski discussed with Barbara Friedman a possible seminar (?) with the Orient Association New Business: (3:58 P.M.) 1. Motion to exit the public meeting and enter into Executive Session was made by Commissioner Woodhouse, seconded by Commissioner Wexler. AYES: Ostroski, Surchin, Wexler, Santana, Cubie, and Woodhouse. Motion approved. (6-0) Executive Session concluded at 5:27 PM Next HPC work session and regular meeting, with Zoom access, scheduled for July 28, 2022 in the Town Hall in the Town Hall Meeting Room at 3:00 PM. 4
