The Board adopted the following resolution which states its interpretation of the Zoning Ordinance as requested in your appeal: SPECIAL PERMIT. By resolution of the Board it was determined that: a special permit ( ) be granted (x) be denied (a)l,2,3&A pursuant to ArtieleVIII Sectional-A, Subsection $ , paragraph_G~,3 of the Zoning Ordinance, and the decision of the Building Inspector ( ) be reversed ( ) be confirmed because: 5 VARIANCE. After callin~ the meeting to order the Chairman of the board introduced the member~ of the beard. Ther~ were Present: Also: Mr. R.~. Gillispie, Jr. Mr. H. Rosenberg Mr. C. Oregonis Mr. R. Bergen ~zr. S. Doyen (Chairm~n) Mr. Howard Terry, Building Inspector ~r. R. O. Terry, Jr., Town Counsel Affidavits from two local newspapers, petition by Mr. Riley and letter of May 31st to Mr. Riley were read by the chairmen. A showing of hands was asked for to determine how ~mny people wi~hed to speak, either "for' or 'against" this appeal. There being only a dozen or so who wished to speak, no liml~ was set as to the time each individual had in which to speak. However, the ohstirman asked each individual to be as brief and to the point as possible. Chairman: "Is there anyone h~re whs wishes to speak 'for" this appeal?" William T. Riley, ?E Riverside. Drive, ~iverhead: "I only wa~ to say this; I am not hers to-defend ~seS.f. I believe the $outhold Town Board of Appeals has been misLuformed. It is net thS.t I want to build a labor camp. A labor camp comprises a group of b~ildings and all Y want~ to buil~ is a barracks about EO' x ~0e. There are two shaokeo~ this piece of p~operty new. Many people live in these two shacks and as there will be ~nly six or so people living in the pr~poee~ bulldin~, that i~a~out all I can say. I believe you brought out that it was a commercial labor camap. ~lyund~r~tandi~ of that, ,n~ I .~aybe wrrong, would mean a labor force 'to which people could go ant recruit help. This help is to be used far my personal use in the grading of potatoes and ~*111 be my group, no~ for hire. There being no one else who wrlshed to speak, Chairman asked Mr. Riley to take up rebuttal if he wished. Mr. Riley: 'X have nothing more to say except that it L9 not a labor camp.
