INSTRUCTIONS
a. This application must be completely filled in by typewriter or in ink and submitted in duplicate to the Building
Inspector.
b. Plat plan showing location of lot and of buildings on premises, relationship to adjoin ng premises or pub c streets or
areas, and giving a detailed description of layout of property must be drawn on the diagram which is part of this application.
c. The work covered by this application may not be commenced before issuance of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application, the Building Inspector will issue a Building Permit to the applicant. Such permit
shall be kept or~ the premises available for inspection throughout the progress of the work.
e. No building sholl be occupied or used in whole or in part for any purpose whatever until a Certificate of Occuponcy
sholl have been granted by the Building Inspector.

BEFORE ASSEMBLING THE "TROPICANA" THE 2"X4" WOOD
BILL SHOOLD BE ANGHOREO TO THE CONCRETE PATIO SLAB
WITH I/4"(~ EXPANSION DOLTS e '4'-0"C.C. SINCE THE
"TROPICANA" HAS BEEN ENGINEERED AS A SELF SEALING UNIT, A
GREAT DEAL OF CARE IS NECCESSARY IN THIS FIRST
OPERATION TO INSURE PROPER FIT AND SEALING OF
THE ENCLOSURE.
LEVELING, THE WOOD SILL SHOULD BE AS NEAR
LEVEL AS POSSIBLE. THIS MAY BE DONE BY PLACING WOOD
SHIMS AT OR NEAR THE EXPANSION BOLTS OR BY ADDING
WASHERS ON THE BOLTS BETWEEN THE SLAB AND THE SILL
SQUARING: THE WOOD SILL SHOULD BE LAYED OUT
SO THAT THE OUTSIDE DIMENSION MEASURES 2" LARGER
THAN THE ENCLOSURE DIMENSION, THE RECTANGLE SHOULD
THEN BE CHECKED FOR SQUARE BY MEASURING THE DIAGONALS
AND ADJUSTED UNTIL BOTH DIAGONALS ARE EQUAL.
"TROPICANA" ASSEMBLY
ERECTION SHOULD NOT BE ATTEMPTED ON EXOESSIVELY
WINDY DAYS.
STEP NO. I: BEGIN AT ONE OF THE ENCLOSURE BY
STANI~I~NG TWO SIDE PAN LS ON EDGE SO THAT THE TWO ENDS
MARKED "TOP" ARE TOGETHER AND THE OPPOSITE ENDS ARE
FAR ENOUGH APART TO FORM THE APPROXIMATE ARC OF THE
"TROPICANA" INSERT THE RUBBER"T" SEAL BETWEEN THE TWO
ENDS MARKED 'TOP.~ ALIGN THE HOLES AND BOLT, HAND TIGHT
WITH 4-$/16"(~ BOLTS AS SHOWN IN DETAIL "A'. ONE I/4"
THICK BENT PLATE IS THEN BOLTED TO EACH SIDE PANEL RIB
USING 4--B/16"~ BOLTS AS SHOWN IN DETAIL 'A". AFTER
ASSEMBLY IS COMPLETE, TIGTHEN ALL BOLTS AND RAISE ARCH
SECTION INTO PLACE ON SILL. DO NOT BOLT TO SILL UNTIL
ENTIRE ENCLOSURE IS ASSEMBLED.
STEP NO. 2: END WALL PANELS HAVE BEEN NUMBERED
AND SHOULD BE ATTACHED IN THE SAME SEGUENOE. RAISE
PANELS, ALIGN GROOVES AND CLIP IN PLACE AS SHOWN IN
FIG. 2. CLIPS ARE TO BE SPAGED AT 12'O.G.

STEP NO. 3: ARCH SIDE PANELS ARE NOW ADDED FOR
THE LENGTH OF THE ENCLOSURE BY FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE
AS OUTLINED IN STEP NO.I AND ADDING CLIPS AS SHOWN IN
FIB. I, AFTER ALIGNMENT.
STEP NO. 4: AFTER ALL SIDE PANEL ARCHES HAVE BEEN
CLIPPED IN PLACE, END PANELS AT OTHER END -ARE ADDED AS
OUTLINED ~N STEP NO,E.
STEP NO. 5: THE "TROPICANA" STRUCTURE SHOULD BE REALIGNED
AT THIS TIME, IF NECESSARY, ANO THE DOOR PANEL CHECKED
FOR SCUARE. THE STRUCTURE IS THEN COMPLETE AND READY
TO BE BOLTED TO THE WOOD~ SILL BY MEANS OF I/4"~ LAG
BOLTS (2 PER PANEL).
STEP NO. 6: AFTER ALL BOLTING IS COMPLETE, TNE
SILL%~,ND SLAB SHOULD BE THOROUGHLY CAULKED TO
PREVENT LEAKAGE.
