PP Barbara C. Dittmann, Secretary '
After investigation and inspection the Board finds that
the applicant request permission to use an existing building
as three separate apartments with insufficient land area. The
Board finds that the building existed with three separate
apartments prior to the enactment of the Zoning Ordinance. The
existing building was constructed to be used as three apartments,
and the building would be of no value if it couldn't be used
as three apartments. The Board finds that the apartments are
to be used forsummer occupancy. The Board further finds that
the water supply will be supplied by the Fishers Island Estates
Water Company,-
The Board finds that ststt application of the Ordinance.
will produce practical difficulties or unnecessary hardship;
the hardship created is unique and would not be shared by
all properties alike in the immediate vicinity of this property
and in the same use district and the variance does observe ,the
spirit of the Ordinance and will not change, the character of
the district.
Therefore, it was RESOLVED that Mary C. Grebe and Polly
Edmonds, Fishers Island, New York, be granted permission to
use an existing building as three apartments with insufficient
land area on property located on the north side of Whistler
Avenue, Fishers Island, New York, bounded north by Race Point,
Corp. , east by Robert Waddington, south by Whistler Avenue,
west by Race Point Corp.

REASON FOR APPEAL continued
1. STRICT APPLiCATiON OF THE ORDINANCE would produce proctical difficulties or unneces-

is individual access So eaoh apartment.
2. The hardship created is UNIQUE and is not shared by all properties alike Jn the immediate
vicinity of this property and in this use district because no other ctvcelling in the area
is constructed in like
3. The Variance would observe the spirit of the Ordinance and WOULD NOT CHANGE THE
CHARACTER OF THE DJ,STRICT because this is an ~i - 1 district° Other
