ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
FORM ZB4
as
Barbara C. Dittmann, Secretary
After investigation and inspection the Board finds that
the applicant request permission to retain two wall signs
at their premises in lieu of one wall sign and one ground
sign as permitted by the Zoning Ordinance. The Board points
out that the property in question hasvery small frontage. It
is impossible for the applicant to erect a ground sign at
their place of business. In general, the Board agrees with
the reasoning of the applicant as set forth in the application
to the Board of Appeals.
The Board finds , that the public convenience and welfare
and justice will be served and the legally ,established or
permitted use of neighborhood property and adjoining use
districts will not be pemmenently or substantially injured
and the spirit of the Ordinance will be observed.
Therefore, it was RESOLVED that Dickinson Real Estate
Agency, Main Road, Southold, New York, be granted permission
to retain two wall signs inlieu of a ground sign on property
located south side Main Road, Southold, New York, subject,
however to the following conditions:
1. This sign is granted for one (1) year only, renewable
annually.
2. This sign shall be subject to all subsequent changes
in the Southold Town Zoning Ordinance as it applies to signs.
3. The applicant is forbidden to erect or display any
ground sign.
