Teves, located on the north side North Road, Greenport, New York, bounded north by Long Island Sound, east by E.F. Burkey, south by North Road ~R 27), west by Talmage. 2. VArIAnCE. By resolution of the Board it was determined that (a) Strict application of the Ordinance (wodid) (would not) ~orod~ce prsctical difficulties or unnecessary hardship because SEE REVERSE (b) The hardship created (is) (i~ not) unique and (would) (would not) be shared ~)y all properties alike in the immediate vicinity of this preper~y and in the same use district because SEE REVERSE (c) The variance (does) (does not) observe the spirit of the Ordinance and (would) (~vould not) cha~e the character of the district because SEE REVERSE and therefore, it was further determine6 that the requested variance ( ) be granted ( ) be denied and tl~t the previous decisions of the Building Inspector ( ) ~e confirmed ( ) be reversed. ZONING BOARD OP APPEALS Barbara C. Dittm~n7 Secretary / After investigation and inspection the Board finds that the applicant requests permission to retain two ,off premises directional signs. Both property owners have given written permission for the location of signs on their property. The Board finds that the applicant is in the motel business. The Board points out that these signs are in the interest of the travelling public. The Board finds that the public convenience and welfare and justice will be served and the legally established or per- mi~d use of neighborhood property and adjoining use districts will not be permanently or substantially injured and the spirit of the Ordinance will be observed. Therefore, it was RESOLVED that Southold Town BeachMoeel, North Road, SOuthold, New york','b% ~r~e~ permission to retain the following signS: 1) a directional sigh on the p~operty of John Wi~kham, located bn%he West s'i-de Main Roa~, Greenport, New York; 2) a directional sign on~ the property of Alfred V. Teves, locate~ On the nbrth side ~orth Road, Greenport, New York, as~ applied for. This ~ermission is subj%ct to the followin~ conditions: 1. Both signs S~i~' ~e: g~anted for ~ ~eriod of one year only, renewable annually upon written application to the Board of Appeals. 2. Both signs shall be subject to all subsequent changes in the Southold Town Zoning Ordinance, as it applies t o signs. 3. Both signs shall be no larger than four feet by six feet or twenty-four square feet. 4. Both signs shall be located at least five feet from an~° road or property line. 5. Both signs shall be located at least three feet above ground level. 6.
