sign on the north east side Main Roa~ and Boisseau Avenue, Southold,
New York, bounded north by C.H. Cochran, east by Alex ~Komskis, south
by Main Road, west by Boisseau Avenue.
After investigation and inspection the Board finds that
the applicant requests permission to retain three of premises
directional signs. The Board finds that these signs are
directional to a motel and restaurant and are in the interest
of the travelling public. The Board grants permission for
signs one (1) and three (3), subject to the conditions set
forth below. The directional sign located on the north side
Main Road, Greenport, must be reduced is size to four feet by
six feet for both Sound Shore Motel and Sound View Restaurant.
Permission is gr~nted to keep the'p~e~e~t ~tru~ture on which
the sign appears, reducing the ~ize as stated. Permission is
also granted for additional signs on this structure, advertising
the types of business which this Board permits, providing the
size of the sign so advertising is held to four f~et by six
feet. It is the~opinion of the Board~that it is better to
have several signs located on this one billboard at ~his
location, than to have several signs on separate posts.
The B6ard finds that the public convenience and'welfare
and justice will be served and the legally established or
pen~itted use of neighborhood property and adjoining use
districts will not be permanently or substantially injured
and the spirit of the Ordinance will be observed.
Therefore, it was RESOLVED Sound Shore Motel and Sound
View Restaurant, Greenport, New York, be granted permission to
retain the following directional signs: 1) a directional sign
located on the north west corner of the Main Road and Chapel
Lane, Greenport, New York; 2) a directional sign on the north
side Main Road, Greenport, New York; 3) a directional sign
on the north east side Main Road and Boisseau Avenue, $outhold,

We would appreciate having the above signs reapproved as they
are the only signs we have to guide our customers to ou~
location. These signs are in proper repair and they serve a
very important function. The loss of these signs would-oause a
undue hardship and loss of business.
