After investigation and inspection the Board finds that
the applicant requests permission to erect an area identification
sign for Shore Acres at Mattituck, on property of Agnes D.
McGunnigle. Said property owner has given written permission for
the erection of a sign on her property. The Board finds that
this type of sign is essential to the residents of Shore Acres
for the proper direction for all delivery men, emergency vehicles,
and visitors to the residents of Shore Acres.
The Board finds that the public convenience and welfare
and justice will be served and the legally established or
permitted use of neighborhood property and adjoining use
districts will not be'permanently, of substantially injured
and the spirit of the Ordinance will be observed.
THEREFORE, ~T WAS~RESOLVED, Norman Reily~-Mattituck, New
York, a/c the residents of Shore Acres, Mattituck~ New York, be
granted permission to erect an~ maintain an area identification
sign on. the property of Agnes D. McGunnigle, located on the north
east side Bayview Road and Mil~ Road, Mattituck~ NeW York. This
permission is subject to the following conditions:
1. The sign shall be granted for a period of one year,
renewable annually upon written application to the Board of
Appeals.
2~ The sign shall be subject to all subsequent changes in
the Southold Town Building Zone Ordinance as it applies to signs.
3. The sign shall be located at least five feet (5') from
any property line.

THE~EC~L E~CEPTIO~ ~ REQUESTED B~AUSE: We request permission to maintain
an identification sign ~Shore Acres'~ on the north side of Bay View
Ave at Mill Road so that the traveling public can locate our area,
We have permission from the land owner to maintain such a sign
on her property~ letter enclosed.
The original ~shoreacres~: sign was located in the higbf,~ay and
removed by the Twon last year during the drive to correct all signs.
The original develgper of"Shore Acres" has sold out all of the
property to about 30 families who are living there year ro~mud~ and more
are coming here each year~ The sign is necessary to direct emergency
vehic~es~diievery men~ doctors etc to the area which is off the
main (Mill Road) road through the area.

Kindly be advised that permission is hereby granted
to Arnold Reilly~ Norman A. ~{eilly, George W.R. Olsen~ and Wayne D. Bird,
to erect and maintain a single area designation sign containing the
wording "Shore Acres" on that corner of ~ry property at Shcre Acres,
Mattituck, near the intersection of Bayview Avenue ~.~th l~ill ~oad,
this to replace a similar sign ~reviously standing at about the same
location.
I reserve the right Lo revoke the permission granted
herein ~t any time upon notice to any of the four persons above named.
