Tuthill. Location of property: north side Route 25, Mattituck, New York, bounded north by L.G. Tuthill Est., east by L.G. Tuthill Est., south by Main Road, west by L.G. Tuthill Est. 2. V/LRIANCE. By resolution of ths Board it was determined that (a) strict al~plication of the Ordinance (would) (would not) produce practical difficultie~ or unnecessary hardship because SEE REVERSE (b) Tile hardship created (is) (is not) unique and (would) (would not) be shared by ali properties alike in the immediate vicinity of this prQperty and in the same use district because SEE REVERSE (c) The variance (does) (does not) observe the spirit of the Ordinance and (would) (would not) change the character of the district because SEE REVERSE and therefore, it v/as further determined that the requested wariance ( ) be granted ( previous decisions of the Building Inspector ( ) be confirmed ( ) be reversed. One sign is on the property of Terry R. Tuthill, in Mattituck; and the second sign is on the property of James J. Olsen, in Laurel. Both property owners have given permission for a ~3n on their property. The Board points out that said signs are in the interest of the travelling public and the signs designate the meeting place of the local chapter of the Lions Club. In general, the,Board, iB.in agreement with the reasoning of the.application. q The Board finds that the public convenience and welfare and justice will be served and the legally established or permitted use of neighborhood property and, adjoining,use districts will not be permanently or substantially injured. and the spirit of the Ordinance will be observed. Therefore, it was RESOLVE)that the Lions Club of Mattituck, Mattituck, New York, be granted permission to retain the following off premises signs= 1) a sign on the property of Terry R. Tuthill, Mattituck, New York; 2) a sign on the property of James J. Olsen, La~rel, New York, This permission is granted subject to the following conditions: 1. Both signs shall be located at least five (5) feet from any property line. 2. Both signs are subject to all subsequent changes in the Southold Town Zoning Ordinance as it applies to signs. 3. Both signs shall be granted for one (1) year, renewable annually upon written application to the Board of Appeals.
