accordance with the Zoning Ordinance, Article IV, Section 408,
Subsection ~b), for permission to retain wall signs. Location of
property: south sicle Main Road, Greenport, New York, bounded north
by Main Road, east by Andrew Cassidy, south by Railroad~ west by
Robert Brown.

After investigation and inspection the Board finds that
the applicant requests permission to retain more than one side
wall sign. The applicant presently has ground signs and
front wall signs. The Board finds there is an identification
problem of the property coming from a%westerly direction.
Therefore, the Board grants permission to retain a side
wall sign on the westerly side wall, and denies permission
to retain a sign on the easterly side wall. The applicant
agrees not to erect or display any other signs at this
premises.
As to the ~est wall sign the Board finds that the public
convenience and welfare and~justice will be served and the
legally e~tablished or permitted use of neighborhood property
and a~joining use districts will not be permanently or
substantially injured and the spirit of the Ordinance will
be observed.
As to the east wall sign' the Board finds that the public
convenience and welfare and justice will not be served and the
legally established or permitted use of neighborhood property
and adjoining use districts will be permanently or substantially
injured and the spirit of the Ordinance will be observed.
Therefore it was RESOLVED that Fleet Lumber, Inc., Route
25, Greenport, New York, be denied permission to retain a side
wall sign on the east side of the building located on the south
side MainRoad, Greenport, new york, and
IT WAS FURTHER RESOLVED that Fleet Lumber, Inc., Route
25, Greenport, New York, be granted permission to retain a
side wall sign on the west side of the building located on
the south side Main Road, Greenport, New York. This permission
is granted subject to the following conditions:
1. The sign shall be granted for a period of one year,
renewable annually upon written application to the Board of
Appeals.
2. The sign shall be subject to all subsequent changes in
the Southold Town Zoning Ordinance as it applies to signs.
3. The applicant agrees to not erect or display any other
signs on this premises.
&. The sign on the east wall of the building shall be
removed by July 1,1967.
