After investigation and inspection the Board finds that
the ap~ica~t requests permission to retain a pole sign with
insufficient setback from the property line. It is the opinion
of the Board that the present location of the sign is the
best possible location for this sign on this property. If
the sign was setback luther on the property it would obstruct
the traffic using the facilities of the Service Station.
The Board finds that the public convenience and welfare
and justice will be served and the legally established or
permitted use of neighborhood property and adjoining use
districts will not be permanently or substantially injured
and the spirit of the Ordinanc~ w~l~ b~ observed.
The~fore, it was RESOLVE~ That Esso Standard Oil Company,
~03 S~ Sendecor Avenue, Bayport, New York, a/c'John Berry
Service S~ation, Main Road, Southol~, New York, be granted
permission to retain a~pole sign with~ insufficient setback
from the property li~e as appl,ied for. This permission is
granted subject to ,the ~ollowing conditions:
1. The sign shall be g~anted for one year only, renewable
annually upon written application to the Board of Appeals.
2. The sign shall be subject to all subsequent changes in
the Southold Town Zoning Ordinance as it applies to signs.
