The validity of this permit is or may be subject to the approval of other governmental or municipal
a~thorities. The Town accepts no responsibility in applying for or obtaining such approval. In the
· event that such approval is necessary, the holder of this permit shall not commence operations here-
under until such approval has been obtained in wdting. The failure to obtain such other approval when
required shall subject this permit to immediate revocation by the Trustees upon receipt by the
Trustees- of written notice from such other governmental or municipal authorities of its refusal or
disapproval.
The applicant does by the acceptance of this permit, assume all responsibility for operations under-
taken pursuant to this permit, and shall take all precautions for the prevention of injuries to persons
and property resulting from such operations. By such acceptance, the applicant also agrees to indemni-
fy and save harmless the Town, and its officers, agents and employees from any and all claims arising
from operations under this permit and any and all acts or omissions of applicant, his agent and
employees.
The applicant and the owner and occupants of the premises upon which the operations authorized by
this permit are being conducted, do, by the acceptance of this permit, give consent to the Town, and
its officers and employees to enter upon the premises where such operations are being conducted to
make such inspections as the Town may deem necessary to insure that such operations are being con-
ducted in conformity with this permit.
This operation will not substantially:
A. Adversely affect the wetlands of the town.
B. Cause damage from erosion, turbidity or siltation.
C. Cause seltwater intrusion into the fresh water resources of the town.
D. Adversely affect fish, shellfish or other beneficial marine organisms, aquatic wildlife and vege-
tation or the natural habitat thereof.
E. Increase the danger of flood and storm-tide damage.
F. Adversely affect navigation on tidal waters or the tidal flow of the tidal waters of the town.
G. Change the course of any channel or the natural movement or.flow of any waters.
H. Weaken or undermine the lateral support of other lands in the vicinity.
I. Otherwise adversely affect the health, safety and general welfare of the people of the town.

Dear Mr. Just:
The following action was taken by the Board of Trustees during their
regular meeting held on July 31, 1986 regarding the above mentioned matter.
Moved by Trustee Smith seconded by Trustee Bredemeyer
WHEREAS, The Land Use Company on behalf of Vernon G. Strub applied to the Southold
Town Trustees for a permit under the
provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold application
dated April 8, 1986 , and
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation
Advisory Council for their findings and recommendations, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to
said application on July 31, 1986 at which time all interested persons were given an
opportunity to be heard, and
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the
premises in question and the surrounding area; and
WHEREAS, the Board considered all the testimony and documentation submitted
concerning this application, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not
affect the health, safety and general welfare of the people of the Town,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that The Land Use Company on behalf of Vernon G. Strub BE AND HEREBY
ARE GRANTED PErmISSION UNDER THE WETLAND ORDINANCE to reconstruct within 18"
approximately 73' of timber bulkhead. New structure shall be 1' higher. Applicant
will construct a 10' return at the east end and to backfill with approximately 40 cu.
yds. of clean sand to be trucked in from upland source. Property is located on
Park Avenue, Mattituck. This permit will expire on July 31, 1987 if work has not
commenced by said date. There are two inspections required and the Trustees are
to be notified upon the completion of the work.
A $5.00 inspection fee is now due and payable. Upon remittance your permit
will be forwarded by mail.

On a motion made by Jeanne Marriner, seconded by John. Tuthill~ .-it-~was
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Trustees ~tSA~PROVAL
of wetland application No. 369 submitted by Joseph A. Barbato
to extend an existing jetty to 48' and install a new jetty 48~ in
length. The Council recommends the applicant resubmit the applica-
tion without the 20'extension on the existing jetty. The proposed
jetty to be no longer than .the length of the existing jetty, the
seaward end should follow the grade of the bottom contour and prefill.
The Council also feels the adjacent neighbors should be notified
and given an opportunity to comment. '
Vote of Council: Ayes: Ail
Motion carried.
On a motion made by Ralph Condit, seconded by John Holzapfel, it was
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Trustees DISAPPROVAL
of wetland application NO. 372 submitted by Costello Marine Con- '
tracting Corp. on behalf of Donald Brennan to install a 40' jetty
approximately 25' north of the east property line and install a
70' jetty 40' south of the northeast property line. The Council
feels the applicant should resubmit adhereing to the following
guidelines:
1. Jetties should protr, ude no further than the Mean Low Water.
2. ~'Jetties must follw the present grade of the beach.
with the landwa=d ends no higher than the Mean High Water.
3. P~fill.
Vote of Council: Ayes: All
Motion carried.
On a motion made by John Tuthill, seconded by John Holzapfel, it was
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Trustees APPROVAL
of wetland application No. 392 Submitted by Mathias Mone to con-
struct steps to beach for private use. The Council Stresses that
the applicant should use extreme care to minimize any damage to the
hill during construction.
