Possible Wetlands Violation - Lot No. 1, Minor Subdivision J. D Stern
February 19, 1988
After our chance meeting with you bn 2-17-88 the Town Trustees discussed your
apparent violation of the Town Wetlands Ordinance. We offer the following in
addition to anything the Bay Constable may require, as we are requesting his con-
current review of this matter.
We offer the following to be done within two weeks or sonner if possible:
Place a double row of staked-interlocking haybales at the bottom of the
hill ahead of the rocks. [In the alternative and probably better would be a row of
haybales with a geo-textile under-liner. ]
2. Remove silt and fines from the edge of the wetland manually at the direction
of a Trustee/Bay Constable.
3. Cease devegetation on right of way until further review of this Board.
4. Submit an application for a permit including:
A. Planting scheme for all areas within 75' of edge of wetland.
B. Proposal for run-off discharge from front of house to wetland.
C. Detailed description of water flow pattern from wetland through ditch
heading east.
D. The ultimate fate of surface water in this ditch (sound, marsh, pond,
ground dispersion, etc. )'including a detail-ed location.
E. Detailed history of the ditch and any other operations on site within -
75' of any standing water or damp ar~s.
F. Details of your devegetation plan for over your right of way to the beach.
The Trustees were shocked to see such severe land use practices in effect on your
property. As ~we do n6t wish Mr. Stern to consider our visit to his adjoining land au
endorsement of your practices, we are copying him with this lette~ 6f "Not How To
Do It". Also, please be advised that a referral to the N.Y.S.D.E.C. upon
