T~PIE SPECIAL F~CEPTION !$ P~E'QU~..ISTED BECAUSE Tare hire and-utilize many out of state
truckers who go to the Orient facility to pick up a~d subsequently deliver locally
grown produce. This sign, being located 'where it is presently, can be seen by
the truckers from l{oute 27. Many of these men are unfamiliar v~ith the area.
The sign saves much confusion and precludes interference with normal town
traffic. If there was difficulty in locating our facility byvirtue of missing the
sign, they might possibly go on through and add unnecessary congestion within
local residential and business areas.
At this facility the L. I. C. D. sign is painted .on the structure .and is not an
additional unit. Also, the Ag~vay sign is posted and attached to the building
on the northwest corner by a number of nails.
We feel it is important to have these signs available for' out of state truckers.
During the harvesting season, with many trailers and farm tracks on-our premises,
there results a great deal of traffic which occasionally causes confusion. Therefore,
it behooves 'us to get these trucks unloaded and trailers loaded as quickly as
po ssible.
The visibility of the signs would be obscured by parked vehicles, trailers, trucks,
etc., if located lower on the building.
~Are believe that if the out of state truckers have a difficult time in locating these
warehousing facilities it would seriously impede the rapid delivery of fresh farm
products to terminal points, possibly resulting in less favorable end results for
lo-cai farmers.
