TYPE OF APPEAL Appeal is made herewith for ( ~ A VARIANCE to the Zoning Ordin.a.nce or Zoning Map ( ) A VARIANCE due to lack of access (.State of New York Town Law Chap. 62 Cons. Laws Art. 16 Sec. 280A Subsection 3 4. PREVIOUS APPEAL A prevFous appeal ~ (has not) been made with respect to this decision of the Building Inspector or with respect to this property. Such appeal was ( ) request for a special permit ( ) request for a variance and was made in Appeal No ................................. Dated ...................................................................... ( ) REASON FOR APPEAL A Variance to Section 280A Subsection 3 A Variance to the Zoning Ordinance is requested for the reason that~ The present(accessory)storage building is in need of major repairs and is not large enough for its intem~ded use~ It is proposed to replace it with a larger building which like the existing one will not have sufficient setback from the highway or rear line. ~'om zB~ (Continue on other side) REASON FOR APPEAL Continued 1. STRICT APPLICATION OF THE ORDINANCE would produce practical difficulties or unneces- sbry HARDSHIP because: The lot on ~hich the 'proposed. building will set is a most %~ausual and irregular shape ~ being very narrow and following several turns of the road (Mill Rd) and it is impossible to increase the size or straighten out the lot lines, The proposed building will not be closer to the road than the existing~bui!ding 2. The hardship created is UNIQUE and is not shared by all properties alike in the immediate rn 4 vicinity of this property and in this use district because : -~h.s is a most U~us~al lot £ollowing several curves of the road and being almost a trzao~e,' ~ 3. The Variance would observe the spirit of the Ordinance and WOULD NOT CHANGE THE CHARACTER OF THE DISTRICT because: This is a s~rictly business area~ having large shipyard~ restaurants~ docks etc and no residential use for several h~a~dred feet further out on this road, The proposed building will revlace~ an ~xi~ stin~..~o one and not harm or change the use in the area.., STATE OF NEW YORK ) coUNTY OF Suffolk ) SS ~ -c
