Crane Secretary of Southo!d Park District Southold NY 11971 Dear Ms. Crane: I am. sorry to inform you that at this time the Town does not have the capabilities to do the sort of work you request in your letter of January 25~ 1992. This sort of maintenance dredging will require a UoS. Army Corps of Engineers, NYSDEC~ NYS Dept. of State and Town Trustee approvals such that the park district may wish to secure an enviror~ental consultant and marine contrac'toz<g~ before proceeding in this matter. The Southold Park District has 26 boat slips on Town Creek an Youngs Avenue Park. The South side of which has filled in to such an extent that at iow tide even the smallest boat would be stuck in the mud. The Commissioners request that you scoop out enough dirt so that these slips become viable. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Sincerely, Cheryl S. Y. 11971 February 22. 1993 Board of Trustees To~n Hall Main Road Southold, NY 11971 Dear Trustees, The Con~aissioners have requested that I write to you again of our boat slips on To~n Creek at Youngs Avenue Park. W~ have 26 slips to offer the residents of the District. However, a number of these slips are no longer viable due to filling in where the creek meets the road. At low tide even the smallest of boats are st~Ck in the mud. It is hoped that you will see your way to scoop out enough dirt to make the aforementioned slips viable.
