Box 204, Greenport, New York DATE ._D. ecemher 5, 1968 Appellant at a meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals on December 5, was considered and the action indicated below was taken on your ( ) Request for variance due to lack of access to property (X) Request for a special exception under the Zoning Ordinance ( ) Request for a v~riance to the Zoning Ordinance ( ) 1968 th~ appeal 1. SPECIAL EXCEPTION. By resolution of,the Board it was determined that a ~)ecial exception (X) be granted ( ) be denied pursuant to Article ....'l',~.~ ...... Section ....... -q0~.... Subsection ........ 10 ...... paragraph .................... of the Zoning Ordinance. and the decision of the Building Inspector ( ) be reversed ( ) be confirmed because 7:30 P.M. (E. S.T. ), upon application of North Fork Lions Club of Greenport and Rotary Club of Greenport, P.O. Box 204, Greenport, New York, for a special exception in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance~ Article III, Section 300, Subsection 10, for permission to erect an'off premises directional sign on the property of Floyd F. King, Jr. Location of property: north side of Route 25, Greenport, New York, bounded north by L,I. Sound, east by Ernest Wiggins, south by Main Road and D. Ripley, west by William J. Pollert. 2. VARIANCE. By resolution of the Board it was determined that (a) Strict application of the Ordinance (would) (would not) produce hardshir~ because practical difficulties or unnecesssry SEE REVERSE (b) The hardship created (is) (is not) unique and (would) (would not) be shared by ail properties alike in the immediate vicinity of this property and in the same use district because SEE REVERSE (c) The variance (does) (does not) observe the spirit of the Ordinance and (would) change the character of the district because (would not) SEE REVERSE and therefore, it was further determined that the requested variance ( ) be granted ( ) be c~enied and that the previous decisions of the Building Inspector ( ) be confirmed ( ) be reversed. FORM ZB4 After investigation and insPgction the Board finds that the: appl~cant requests permission to erect off premises signs for the Rotary Club ahd Lions Club. These signs are 'in the interest'of the 'geheral-~pUblie in'view of t~e..fact they advise there are such clubs in the community. The signs also advise of the time and place of meeting of these clubs. This sign shall be located between the two present ~sland End ~olf and ~oqntry Club signs now located on the premises on the north side of the roadl ~he Board finds that the'public convenience and welfare and justice will be served and the legally established or permitted use ofneighborhood property and adjoining use districts will not be permanently or substantially injured and the spirit of the Ordinance will be observed. Therefore, it was RESOLVED North Fork Lions Club of Greenport and Rotary Club of Greenport, be granted permission to erect an off premises sign on the property of Floyd F. King, Jr., north side Route 25, Greenport, New York, subject to the following conditions: 1. The sign shall be subject to al'l subsequent changes in the Southold Town Building Zone Ordinance as it applies't0 Si~n~. ~ 2.
