After investigation and inspection the Board find~ that the
applicant requests permission to construct addition to existing
dwelling with reduced side yard area. The app!ic~n.t states that
this attached garage is a physical necessity. Due to .the chimney
which would protrude 18 inches into the ig~rage, t~, e~!de yard
would have to be reduced to g' 6". The Board finds that the
applicant's lot is on an approved filed map. therefore they feel
that the applicant should be granted relief.
The Board finds that strict appli~ation of the Ordinance would
produce practical difficulties or unnecessary hardship; the hardship
created is unique and would not be sha=ed by all properties alike
in the immediate vicinity of this property and in the same use district;
and the variance will not change the character of the district and
will observe the ~irit of the Ordinance.
THEREFORE, IT WAS RESOLVED James E. Callahan, Central Drive,
Mattituck, New York, be GRANTED permission to construct addition

Inspector.
b. Plot plan showing location of lot and of buildings on premises, relationship to adjoining premises or public streets or
areas, and giving a detailed description of layout of property must be drawn on the diagram which is part of this application.
c. The work covered by this application may not be commenced before Jssuonce of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application, the Building Inspector will issue a Building Permit to the applicant. Such permit
shall be kept on the premises available for inspection throughout the progress of the work.

shall have been granted by the Building Inspector.

1. STRICT APPLICATION OF THE ORDINANCE would produce practical difficulties or unneces-

2. The hardship created is UNIQUE and is not shared by all properties alike in the immediate
vicinity of this property and in this use district because
