The Board of Trustees reviewed your request to possibly remove two trees located on the waterside of your property, which trees were seen by arborist Jonathan Shipman of Shamrock Tree and are within 100' of the wetlands. These trees were reviewed and seen by Trustee President Glenn Goldsmith on July 6, 2022. The Board of Trustees determined that these trees may be removed/pruned as indicated according to Shamrock Tree. No permit will be required in order to perform this work. Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this office. This is not a determination from any other agency. Thank you for that approval. There are 3 remaining Zelcova trees on the waterside of the property that are within 100 feet of the wetlands. It was our intention to keep all 3. However, now that spring has arrived, it is clear that 2 of the remaining 3 trees are dead/dying. I had a meeting with an arborist(Jonathan Shipman)from Shamrock Tree who confirmed the trees are dying and represent a safety hazard as they are in close proximity to the house and overhang our patio where we frequently spend time. As a result, I am requesting permission to remove these 2 additional trees as soon as possible. Again, the property is 2252/2300 Park Avenue, Mattituck and is owned by CNC Park Avenue LLC of which I am the sole owner. I give the Trustees permission to access my property if necessary. My property is situated on the Peconic Bay and I would like to request permission to remove a single tree on the waterside of the the house. The specific tree(photos attached)is situated on the southwest corner of the property. I am requesting permission to remove the tree because it is very close to the house with several branches actually overhanging the roof. As this tree does not appear to be in particularly good shape, I worry that this is a dangerous situation, particularly given the high winds to which it is exposed during storms.
