hereby apply to THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS for a SPECIAL EXCEPTION in accordance with the
ZONING ORDINANCE ARTICLE IV SECTION 408 - A
SUBSECTION
THE SPECIAL EXCEPTION IS REQUESTED BECAUSE: We have permission from the land
owner, Mr. R.C.Kopf, to maintain our off premises directional sign
on his property, New Suffolk Ave & Main Road Mattituck, N.Y.
This sign has four panels each less than 4ft X 6ft and
each advertizint seperate businesses in New Suffolk who have no other
means to direct the traveling public to their place of business. Each
of the businesses are in the catagory of "tourist attractions" and a
necessary part of the summer peoples activities.
The orinal sign on this location was much larger that the present
wooden structure, this was removed and reduced in sixe some tmme ago.
We would like to use a new double faced steel sign of 6ft X 12 ft
surface area for the same businesses, and set back at least 5 feet from
the northerly line of New suffolk ave on Mr. Kopf's property similar to
other directiona signs in the Twwn.
