After investigation and inspection the Board finds 'that the
applicant requests permission to erect an off premises directional
sign on the property of Malcolm P. Rackett. Letter of permission
from the Property owner is contained in the file. This s~gn shall
be a 4' x 6' free standing ground sign adjacent to the building.
This sign shall read "Chappy's Restaurant, 2nd right." ~he Board
finds that this is in line with the Board's policy for granting
directional signs, and this 's'ign is in the interest of the
travelling public.
T~EREFORE, IT WAS RESOLVED David Eliazar, 1788 Roland Avenue,
Wantagh, New York, be GRANTED permission to erect an off premises
directional sign on property of Malcolm P. Rackett, corner of
Main Street, and Champlin Place, Greenport, New York, as applied
for, subject to the following conditions:
1. The sign shall be no larger than 4 feet by 6 feet, tag
permit required.
2. The sign shall re~d "Cha~p~ >
Restaurant, 2nd right."
3. The sign shall be located at least five ~eet from any
property line. ,~
4.~ ~he sign s~ll be located at least .three feet above
ground level.
5. This sign shall be granted for a period of one year,
renewable annually upon written application to the Board of Appeals.
6. This sign shall be subject to all subsequent changes in
the Southold Town Building Zone Ordinance as it concerns signs.

Dear Mr. Ketcham:
This will confirm that:
1. we have submitted your letter to the Town Clerk in
order that you may obtain a refund of the above-referenced
filing fee.
2. there is a Special Exception of record for one
directional sign for the same restaurant (previously "Chappy's
Restaurant," subsequently changed to "Puerto Verde) to be
located in the same spot, at or close to the southwesterly side
of the Spanos Service Station building.
Please also be aware that your request to change the name of the
restaurant on the sign was granted by the Board of Appeals at
our meeting held last night. The change is limited to a
modification in the wording of the sign to read "Porto Bello
Ristorante," as requested, and subject to the 'same conditions.
