AYES: Ostroski, Surchin, Wexler, Santana and Cubie. Motion approved. 3:46 P.M.A Motion to Exit the Executive Session and move to the Public Meeting was made by Commissioner Wexler, seconded by Commissioner Santana. AYES: Ostroski, Surchin, Wexler, Santana and Cubie. Motion approved. Pre submission Conferences: 1. Becker, Kathleen, as Trustee Living Trust— Request for a Certificate of Appro- priateness under Section 170-7(b) of the Southold Town Code at a registered land- mark property, 154 King Street, Orient. Proposed additions and alterations to an Ex- isting Single Family Dwelling. SCTM No. 1000-26-2-3. a) Barbara Cohen, Representative, appeared before the Commission to describe renderings, catalog samples of existing and new portions of the dwelling including the porch on the waterside of the property. b) The Board asked that the applicant submit renderings of Window Sills (Anderson E Series Windows) proposed, and also requested that she narrow the scope of improvements to show only portions of the dwelling visible from the Right of Way. c) The applicant will email to the Coordinator requested information and return to the - Commission meeting in February. d) A site visit by the Commission will be scheduled. 2. Riesenfeld, Mark— Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness under Section 170-7(b) of the Southold Town Code at a registered landmark property, 800 Village Lane, Orient. Proposed alteration to an Accessory Barn to be converted to an Artist Studio. SCTM No 1000-25-1-15. a) Mark Riesenfeld, Owner, and Hideaki Ariizumi, Architect, appeared before the Commis- sion to describe the renderings and in kind improvements to the accessory barn. b) Improvements include windows, replace Board & Baton Exterior, install utilities and half bath to make it a four season structure. AYES: Ostroski, Surchin, Wexler, Santana and Cubie. 3. JOTAS CORP. —Joan Turturro— Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness under Section 170-7(b) of the Southold Town Code at a registered landmark property, 1000 Village Lane, Orient. Proposed addition and alteration to an existing Commercial Building in order to alter an Apartment Dwelling. SCTM No 1000-25-1-18. a) Joan Turturro, Owner, was present. Hideaki Ariizumi,Architect, appeared before the Commission to describe the renderings, construction that connects two structures and mostly in kind improvements which include siding and winterizing. Only a corner of the entire building will be seen from the Right of Way. He also described changes to the barn doors. b) A Motion was made to set a public hearing for February 24, 2022 by Commis- sioner Surchin, seconded by Commissioner Santana. AYES: Ostroski, Surchin, Wexler, Santana and Cubie. Regular Meeting Called to Order: 5:00 pm Attendees: Chairperson Ostroski, Vice Chairperson Surchin, Commissioner Santana, Commissioner Wexler and Commissioner Cubie. Also present: Coordinator: Kim E. Fuentes,Assistant Town Attorney John Burke Quorum present: Pledge of Allegiance: Approval of Minutes: Motion to approve December 9, 2021 meeting minutes by Commissioner Surchin, seconded by Commissioner Wexler, AYES: Ostroski, Wexler, and Santana and Cubie. (5-0). Motion approved. PUBLIC HEARING: NONE Old Business: 1. A date was set for March 5, 2022 for T. Webb and R. Harper Orient Historic District Preservation Program co-sponsored by the OA and OHS. (Mariella Ostroski) 2. Murphy Home Plaque— Possibly in June. 3. Updates on Asch property award in progress. No Updates (Anne Surchin). PUBLIC COMMENTS: The following members of the public spoke of their concerns with 95 Navy Street, which is a property owned by Vincent Bertault: Tim Frost, Martha Riechert, Charles Dane, Fredi Waxberger (sp?), Evan Lewis, William Kranz. 2 Page 3, Minutes of Meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission January 27, 2021 The owners of 95 Navy Street, Vincent Bertault and Claudia Lin, expressed their concerns with Town Agencies and the public regarding their property. New Business• 1 Certificate of Appropriateness Applicants— Presentative of two documents outlining HPC's role to be posted at Town Hall buildings and Website. John Burke,A.T.A. to make edits regarding listed window manufacturers. (Mariella Ostroski). 2. Discussion by Commissioners relating to Certificates of Compliance. There were questions as to which agency would sign off since there is no provision in the Code offering direction. There will be more discussion that will include conversations with the Building Department. (Mariella Ostroski) Meeting Adjourned: 5:51 P.M. Motion to exit the public meeting was made by Commissioner Santana, seconded by, Commissioner Wexler,AYES: Ostroski, Surchin, Wexler, Santana and Cubie. Motion approved. Next HPC work session and regular meeting, with Zoom access, scheduled for February 24, 2022 in the Town Hall in the Town Hall Meeting Room at 3:00 PM. 3
