Attending: Tom Reeve Terry Harnan
Charles Meyer Nelson Chapman
John Flock Frank Kujawski Jr.
The meeting was called to order at 8:05 pm by Welson ,
Chapman.
For the first order of business Tom Reeve suggested the
council ask the town board to requisistion an aerial zoning reap
from the county planning board. This map would be used to
select possible areas eligible for wetlands classification.
It was established that such a map does exist and was
previously created by the Department of Agriculture.
The council then discussed the possitality of the
reinstitution of a crab ordinance. At the present time
there is no existing crab ordinance to regulate the taking
of crabs. The council requested John Pleck to obtain a
copy of the old crab ordinance from the State Conservation
Department for examination ,and possible modification and
reiztitition.
Charles Meyer brought up the next order of business
which was a discussion dealing with the present policy of
obtaining building permits. `the council expressed a desire
that the Southold Town Board adopt Suffolk County Board of
Health regulations as our own guidelines. The regulations
would have to be satisfied before the issuance of a building
permit. By such actions it is hoped our present water supply
and natural waterways would remain free from further
contaminants.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:05 pm.
