HomeMy WebLinkAboutCAC-04/03/1978 SOUTHOLD TOWN CONSERVATION ADVISORY COUNCIL Southold, N. Y. April 3, 1978 Meeting of CAC minutes The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm. Members present were ; Frank Kujawski Jr. , William Ruland, Jack Mulhall, John Plock, and Frank Ciachanowicz . Communications were read to the members. One communicption was from the Town Clerk concerning the "Sunshine Laws" end the regulations governing information. The other letter was from Mr. John. Wickham of the Planning Board concerning the Army Corps Flood Plait Elevation map for Southold Town. The main businessof the me-ting was to respond to in-ui.ries from Mt. Richard Koopman associated with the H"M corror-tion. H"M wanted our input regarding the environmental impact �-e-er_ construction in the penninsula of Sathold Town. He w^c especially interested in the environmentally sensitive ar,-as of our town that we felt would be adversely affected by the activity of severs and- th&r constructi$n. Mr. Koopman was asked to be present at a meeting of the council on this date, but be was not able to attend. The feeling of the council was that sewer construction would have a disasterous affects for the bulk of our town. Any se-wer construction or waste water management must be accompanied by treatment to health standards coupled with recharge. In addition the following public areas -T,lnre identi- fied by the members present as especially sensitive to suers or construction of sewees ; Orient State Park, Peconic Dunes, Moore ' s Woods , Laurel Lake, Marratooka Lake, Husing Pond area, Cedar Beach Park and Marine Center, Great Pond and Lily Pond, Inlet Point Park and Inlet Pond, and residential nreac of Mattituck near Ole Jule Lane and Brower' s Woods. We -,lso felt this group was incomplete without the wetland maps from the DEC. Meetingw was adjourned following a motion by.
