SOUTHOLD TOWN
CONSERVATION ADVISORY COUNCIL
MARCH 24, 1988
The regular meeting of the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council was
held Thursday, March 24, 1988 at 4:30 P.M. at the Southold Town Hall, Main
Road, Southold, New York.
Present were: John Holzapfel, Chairman
Ralph Condit, Vice-Chairman

REPORTS
Margaret Feeney reported that she had attended the ZBA meeting regarding
the Cove project. At the same meeting the Kokes/Kerb property was on the
agenda. Ms. Feeney reported that there was a great deal of dissent against
the two projects. Discussion .and decisions regarding, both projects were
delayed to a later date.
The CAC secretary will be contacting Sophie Morris of the NYSDEC to obtain
the forms needed to receive• a: rebate from the state.
The CAC goes on record .offering its sincerest thanks to Ralph Condit for
his service as• a member and vice-chairman of the CAC.
DISCUSSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
On a motion by John Holzapfel, seconded by John' Tuthill, it was
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Trustees approval of Wetland
Application No. 609 of James F. Murphy to install a 5' x 20' floating dock.
The CAC recommends approval with the stipulation that applicant extend the
catwalk upland to avoid damage to the marsh area.

Motion carried.
On a motion by John Holzapfel, seconded by John Tuthill it was
RESOLVED -to recommend to the Southold Town Trustees that the application
be TABLED until the location of the well and cesspool systen be clarified.

On a::motion made by John Holzapfel, seconded by John Tuthill it was
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Trustees that Wetland Application
No. 610 of Joseph and Joyce Zevits be tabled pending clarification of the location
of the wells and cesspool system. Little Peconic Bay Lane, Southold.
Vote of Council: Ayes: All
Motion carried.
On a motion by John Holzapfel, seconded by John Tuthill, it was
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Trustees approval of the Wetland
Application No. 611 of Edward Deutsch to construct a fixed elevated walkway,
hinged ramp, two floats with pilings. The CAC approves with the stipulation
that there will be no off road parking which would result in harm to the marsh.

Motion carried.
On a motion by Heather Tetrault, seconded by Margaret Feeney, it was
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Trustees approval of Wetland
Application No. 612 of Arnold Blair to add to an existing dock a ramp and
float.

No. 617 - Janet Swanson by En-Consultants, Inc. tocconstruct 100' of timber
retaining wall with two 15' -angled returns.-- -Wall -to-be approximately
4' north of toe of bluff and landward of MHW. Wall will be
armored with approximately 40 c:y. of 1000 to 1000 lb. stone.

maintenance dredge an existing channel to 4' at MLW. Resultant
-spoil, approximately 1025 cly. of clean sand shall be trucked
to an upland site for disposal.

The next regular meeting of the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council
is scheduled for Thrusday, April 14, 1988 at 41:30 P.M. at the Southold Tow€t
Hall, Main Road, Southold, New YOrk.
Group inspections are scheduled for Thursday, April 14, 1988 beginning at
3:00 P.M. Members will meet in the main lobby of the Southold Town Hall.
